Sorry Archie..I am a taurus…April 22 1961 thanks
Nancy, I set up a chart for when I received your question, but it wouldn’t give me an answer. I suspect, despite your urgency, that you’re not quite ready to make a decision. Perhaps you should ask me the question again, but when some more facts have come in?
Still, it might be useful to look at your horoscope, but you haven’t give me a time or place of birth. You can email them to me, if you want.
Sorry Mr. Dunlop: I believe I was born on a wed (?) in the a.m
Both parents are gone so no-one to ask. And I was born in Etobicoke Ont. Can.
Hope that helps you
And thanks again very much for your time
Hello Archie,
I just read an article you wrote about Alexander McQueen and his astrological profile. I studied in psychology (BSC degree completed) and now I changed my mind for fashion design. I have applied for a school and am waiting for their response. I know my chart shows very strong potential in psychology as well as creativity. Could you please tell me, by looking roughly at the general aspect of my chart, if it reflects a designer profile? I am wondering if I am making the right decision. I can send you my chart if you like. my information is:
birth date: 6th march 1985
birth time: 23:21 (11:21 pm)
birth location: Montreal, Canada
I think its easier if you look at it generally than if I were to describe the major points to you..
Erika,
This is a difficult question. People choose careers for different reasons. In the case of Alexander McQueen, there was nothing light about his interest in fashion – whatever he might have claimed. He was driven, and he felt the need to really push himself.
In your case, the creative side of things is certainly important for you, and with the Moon in Virgo you have an excellent sense of detail.
Also, with a Venus-Mars conjunction in Aries, you seem to understand the meaning of the words ’sexual attractiveness’, and this would perhaps be reflected in your designs.
Yet… I’ve a feeling that you might be better off going for psychology. The Moon in Virgo may have a good sense of detail, but it’s also the sign of health, and that includes mental health. You have planets in the Fifth House of creativity, but this house is also about children. Child psychology, for example.
You have Scorpio rising, which is a great Ascendant for a psychologist.
However, what made me think that fashion might not be a suitable career for you is that you might not be able to handle the bull****. The socialising, the networking and the insincerity could turn you off.
I say this because you have Saturn close to the Ascendant, in Scorpio. There’s a serious side to you, that’s all about boundaries and gravitas. It’s useful in psychology, but it might block you in fashion.
However that’s just my view, at 1.38 am, and I haven’t spent very long on your chart. In other words, I might be wrong!
Hello Archie
Thanks a lot for your reply, it helped me a lot to gain my confidence back. Just wanted to ask one more question that from past two years , i m really facing bad time in my life, will this bad time continue or i will be able to see some good time in future? I m about to start my MBA from June for two years, so wanted to ask that, will i get a good job after finishing my MBA in 2012? How to you see my future? for your information again my Date of Birth is 29.8.1983 in India (U.P) at 11:00pm.
Hi Archie
I’m excited about transits to my natal Moon and DC this year.
Could you please write something about this, since both Uranus and Jupiter are about to conjunct my natal Moon.
Can I expect something career-related, or am I about to enter a significant relationship…or..? I read that this year’s aspects will be significant globally, so I would really like to read how that would affect me, since the transits activate many of the sensitive points in my natal chart.

Jolene,
All of us, when we first get involved in astrology, get excited about transits. Even when I started working professionally, I’d still get excited about them, and predict wonderful events. However it soon become clear to me that transits were not as important as many astrologers made out.
In fact, it’s only in the last a hundred years that transits have take on a central role in predictive astrology. Traditionally, transits were not regarded as being a big deal – astrologers would instead work with other predictive techniques, the most important being primary directions.
Jupiter transits in particular can be very deceptive. We get excited about them, but in most cases, nothing much happens.
Indeed in my practice as an astrologer, I pay very little attention to Jupiter transits, and I can do a whole reading without referring to them.
If you do want to use Jupiter transits, I would suggest that you regard them as a clue to timing. The big events in one’s life will very rarely be marked by Jupiter transits, but the transits might tell you what day they occur on.
Hi Archie,
I was disappointed when you were not able to answer my last question but I can understand that its difficult for you to answer each and ever question. So, here I am again with a question. I am struggling from January 2010 financially and I dont have a job. I will be graduating in december 2010 with bachelors in mechanical engineering. I wanted to know about my job prospect both for this summer and after my graduation? Do i need to change my career in order to get job?
My dob is 3rd Nov. 1986, time : 3:30 PM, place – Nasik, Maharashtra, INDIA
Thanks in advance
tapan
Tapan,
Thank you for the question, and I am sorry I didn’t reply earlier. Clearly it’s a tough situation, when you’re completely focused on the quest for a job, yet your destiny appears to be entirely in the hands of other people.
I have looked at your horoscope, and until 2023 you are going through a period of life ruled by Mercury. And until June 2012 you are going through a sub-period of Mercury ruled by Venus.
My overall feeling is, that both Mercury and Venus need to be strengthened. Though maybe you should start by focusing on Mercury.
To do this, it might be a good idea to make Wednesday special, and to wear a green gemstone. You might also want to say a Mercury mantra – there are plenty of places on the internet that you can find such mantras, though of course you could consult a local priest.
Yet I don’t want to encourage you to spend money you can’t afford, paying someone who might not be reliable to help sort out the problem. A bit of self-help can go a long way.
So to conclude, you perhaps need to go into your horoscope, and strengthen the appropriate planets.
Work on Mercury, and see what happens. You could also try doing charitable work on Wednesdays.
What month in this year 2010 will I be free of this present dark controlling relationship/non progressive situation?
( A boyfriend) Will I be able to successfully move from my current location to better surroundings?
DOB: 02/14/1986 Time: 1:00am-1:30am
Janicke,
Thanks for the question. It seems that right now you don’t feel very powerful, and you don’t feel able to take control of the situation. Having said that, the relationship is losing its strength, and I feel that you and the boyfriend are slowly but surely going your different ways.
Still, it might be best if you take it slowly, and you avoid doing anything sudden. You don’t want to aggravate the situation, and it’s possible that your boyfriend has got a bit of a temper.
In late July you are going to get your power back in a major way, so it’s possible that you’ll be free of your boyfriend in late July or August.
Astrology aside, why don’t you try this simple exercise? Write you boyfriend’s name down on a piece of paper, roll it up into a ball, and put this ball of paper somewhere that you never use or visit. For example at the bottom of a drawer, that you never open. This exercise won’t cause any harm to anyone, and you’ll be telling the universe that you want to break your connection with your boyfriend.
Dear Archie:
I am a Libra-with Virgo Rising(25 Septembre) My romantic counterpart is April 6,1935, Riccardo. I feel taken by him although he has an entrenched way of being controlling, manipulative, and sudden raging. He tells me that he loves me, adorns me with clothing, but hardly ever takes me out. I feel like a hermit with him. Now that I am finally getting out into the world rehearsing for an off-broadwat play as actress and stagemanager, he tells me I have given up love for a career.
This is ridiculous. I am a sensitive young lady. You can actually see me on my blogspot as noted for website, my slideshow: http://alexandra-christiane.blogspot.com as well as on http://www.myspace.com/alexandra1ny. I am open to suggestions, Archie. Please help me with some advise. Thank you ever so much.
Graciously,
Alexandra Christiane
Alexandra,
This is perhaps a standard Aries-Libra relationship. In other words, an attraction of opposites. He is probably a typical Aries, wanting everything to happen on his terms, while you, as a Libran, want to make everyone happy – and you don’t like saying no.
However from your point of view, pressure levels are rising. Saturn is close to your Libran Sun, and you realise that something has to change. Also, your ambitions are becoming intense – at some level, you want to push yourself to the limit- especially in terms of your career, as you’ve already suggested.
If you stay with him, Saturn is likely to cause further problems, and I suspect that it’s time to move on.
Of course I’m only working by Sun Signs – I don’t have your years of birth, so that rather limits what I can say.
Born on 5th November 1964 india , I am stuck with a job which is boring now with no nw assignments. Have thought of starting my own venture , planned but hesitating to take any initiative as it will be risky. In relationships also stuck with the same partners which are now turning boring. Is this part of life boring and slow or is it a temporary pahse .
Are things going to change for better , what does the stars have for the furture or have i spent the best years in past ?
Prakash,
Can you please give the time and date of your birth? Thanks.
Dear Archie
Plse help.
trying for years now to sell my house, as my finance-resourses are getting so low, that it is not bearable anymore. born
Sept 20,1938 in Velsen, The Netherlands. 2h15am.
What would be the outcome?
Thank you so much! i just signed up for your weekly newsletter.
Best regards
Willemine – South africa (living here 25 yrs now)
I feel that your approach to selling your house may not be right, and that you need a change of strategy. And once your strategy has changed you might enjoy better luck.
Also, from the point of view of your Hindu horoscope, there was a change at the beginning of February of this year. You became more focused on selling your house, and perhaps your eyes are now opening, and you realise what needs to be done. And I do feel that between now and April 2011 you have an excellent chance of selling your house. This is because this 14-month period is ruled by Venus, and in your Hindu horoscope Venus is strongly placed, in the sign Libra. It’s also in the Fourth House, an area of your horoscope connected with real estate.
After the New Moon on May 14 it might be time to find a new estate agent, and put together a new plan. This should, eventually, lead to a successful outcome.
Date of birth is 05.11.1964 and time of birth is 3.48 PM , Place Jharsuguda , India .
Kindly let me know
About the house, Archie!
Thank you for your comment and advice, it is much appreciated.
I have changed already my Estate Agent, and we made another plan yes…
While VENUS is doing her best, i will focus on selling my house, and not on my love-life for now.. hahah
Kind regards
Willemine – So Africa
dear archie i am having a really bad time of it(my relationship money everything) will it get better for me.birthdate 04/11/61( 12 noon) thanks amanda
Amanda, I don’t think that the situation is anything like as bad as you’re making out. Your fundamental position is strong, though clearly financial issues need to be addressed as soon as possible. Indeed there appears to be come kind of financial crisis coming to a head, where you have to confront the matter head on. However I believe that you will come through unscathed.
Yet the fundamental issue underlying your question seems to be one of communication. Maybe you’re keeping something to yourself? Or you have been delaying passing on a message? Once you’ve delivered the message, I think you’ll feel a whole lot better.
As far as relationships are concerned, your partner seems indecisive, and may not be expressing themselves very well. However they do want to talk, and if you make yourself available there should be progress.
Remember also, you’re not alone. There are lots of people around you, and if you give them a chance they can help you to sort things out.
Hello Archie!
I love your website. I have a question regarding a project I’ve worked on for a long time. It will be completed by the end of May and I’m planning on launching it sometime in June. Can you reccomend a time it would be most auspicious? Do you see success? Birthdate is Nov. 15th, 1960 – sorry I don’t know the day of the week or time I was born. Thank you!
Patty
Patty,
You’re already committed to your project, so I am not going to look at the question of whether it will succeed or fail. Can you tell me the ABSOLUTE earliest and latest dates the project can start?
I see the earliest as maybe June 5th 2010, the latest is open-ended becuase it’s a project that’s speculative in nature. My husband is my creative partner and his birthday is June 29, 1958
if that’s any help. You’re right I’m very commited as I belive greatly in the project…any other advice you can offer is much appreciated. I am thinking of approaching a Pisces (birthday Feb. 3 1956) with the project. Thank you for your time and God’s blessings!
Dear Archie..again me.. reading your comment over and over again.. i was wondering what you actually meant by: (quote)I feel that your approach to selling your house may not be right, and that you need a change of strategy. And once your strategy has changed you might enjoy better luck…..
What is meant by approach? HOW could i change it??
Thank you again. Much appreciated.
Willemine – South Africa
Patty,
Without a time of birth I wouldn’t use the birth chart to select the timing for a venture. Instead, I would just focus on the position of the planets, and try to create as good a horoscope as possible.
If you say you’re open-ended about the latest time to start the project, then all things being equal I’d tell you to wait until 2012, but that’s probably not what you wanted to hear. Hence the importance of having a realistic earliest and latest date.
There is also the question of holidays. Can you start your business on a weekend? Or in the middle of the night?
My immediate inclination is to go for very early in the morning on Monday July 5, US time. This is of course a public holiday in the US.
The planet Jupiter is very strong at this time, especially in the hours of darkness, and the Moon in Aries is making a favourable aspect to Venus in Leo. Furthermore, if you’re doing your business in the US, you’ll be resonating with your country by starting the enterprise just after Independence Day.
Bear in mind, though, that that’s my first impulse. I haven’t have a really close look at the horoscope for this day, and there might be something I’ve missed. Also, I haven’t given a precise time, and that can also be important.
Thank you Archie, I’ll keep you posted!
Patty
Hi ARCHIE.I unfortunately did not get a response from you on my previous question thus feel that you prefer not to respond . I respect that. I will try another question however – cheeky I know-. Date of birth 13 Sept 1971 born Ugento Italy at 6h23 am.Been living in South Africa for 31 years. The time has come to leave this place due to political unrest and extreme violence. I ‘m not sure if I would be better off in Italy or Australia.I’m a single mom of a 9year old girl and thus need to consider her future prospects as well. This is also based on whether my financial situation will improve in the near future.
Sandra,
I’m sorry things are getting difficult for you in South Africa, and clearly you’ve got to make a decision.
My immediate concern is, that for one reason or another, it might be difficult for you to leave South Africa. There are things to deal with, obstacles to overcome. And perhaps your concern about which country to move to could hold you up.
So if you really feel that it’s not safe for yourself and your daughter, you should leave the country, and then worry about the fine details of where exactly you should go to.
As far as whether Italy or Australia is the best place for you, there is an astrological technique one can use. I don’t trust it a hundred percent, but I’ll nonetheless tell you about what it says.
As far as Australia is concerned, it’s a big country! Western Australia, for example Perth and Albany, looks good, especially from a career point of view. Eastern Australia, by contrast, could be more argumentative, and it’s possible that you find it difficult to get on with people here. When I say Eastern Australia, I am talking about a coastal strip – Tasmania, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
As far as Italy is concerned, it looks OK – you were born there, close to Sunrise, with the Moon well-placed in Cancer in the Tenth House of career. In other words, your birth place could suit you very well.
So all things being equal, Italy and Western Australia look OK, but Eastern Australia needs to be treated with caution.
However I must emphasise that the technique I am using is not completely reliable.
Dear Archie,
What is the difference between Vedic and Western astrology, is one more accrate than the other?
Thank you,
Appreciatively,
Sharmila
Sharmila,
There are a number of differences between Vedic and Western astrology. The most significant is the Zodiac. Vedic astrology takes into account the precession of the equinoxes, which means that at the moment the Western Zodiac is about 24 degrees ahead of the Eastern/Vedic one. So if the Moon is 23 degrees Taurus in the West, it will be 29 degrees Aries in the East.
There is also the house system generally used, which differs from the house system used by most (but not all) Western astrologers. A whole sign is used for a house, so if one degree Virgo is the Ascendant, everything in Virgo is in the First House, everything in Libra is in the Second House, and so on.
As far as accuracy is concerned, Vedic astrology is certainly a powerful tool, but it’s easier to make mistakes with it than with Western astrology. Still, if you’re interested in hard and fast predictions, I would have said that Vedic astrology is more accurate than Western astrology, especially the kind of astrology that’s very psychological, and overly dependent on transits and secondary progressions.
Dear Archie,
I’m just discovering your website and I really enjoy reading your articles. I am in love with a man for years now and always felt like I knew him before and that he could be my future husband. I want to make the move towards him and make him known about my interest. What do you think ? Are my feelings well-based ?
My data : 04/19/1984 5:10pm London his data 06/21.1982 9:01 London Thank you for your help !
Dear Archie,
I’ve just read one of your oldest articles about asking love questions to astrologers and I found it very truthful !
I questionned myself after reading it, and if i belonged to those who already know they will be disappointed, in fact my question is most motivated by the fact I have always been discouraged by relatives to try my chance with that man. But I feel I please him so…Thanks for your insights !
Cindy,
I’m glad you’ve found some of my articles of interest. As far as your question is concerned, I set up a chart for when I read and understood your email. The chart could not be judged – according to the tradition, astrologers have to follow certain rules. In the jargon, the Ascendant was too late.
This means that I can tell you nothing, and that’s probably a good thing. Maybe the situation between you and the other person is still very fluid, and it can go either way.
By the way, I don’t believe that comparing two horoscopes will tell you whether or not a relationship is possible.
Also, it’s interesting that both of you were born very close to ‘the cusp’. The man you’re interested in is a Gemini, but Prince William, who was born on the evening of that day, is a Cancerian. And of course you’re an Aries – the Sun moved into Taurus on the evening of your birth.
Dear Archie,
Thank you so much for your reply.
Well strangely I felt I may have to just “wait and see” so your answer quite made me feel released and I agree with you about the situation being still fluid.
What did you mean by the fact it is interesting both of us are being “born to the cusp” ? Thank you again for having taken the time to reply. Have a nice evening !
Cindy,
‘The cusp’ is the point between two signs. In the case of both you and your man, one wouldn’t know for sure what star signs you were just by referring to your birth dates. You’d have to use a set of tables, or a computer.
Thank you Archie ! Good week-end !
http://cyberboris.wordpress.com/2010/01/02/prodigiously-talented-and-born-for-the-world-stage-2/
The fixed Star chart above is of Boris Johnson, Tory Mayor of London, a charismatic and popular politician who is known to be a rival to David Cameron and many people would prefer as PM. Wondered if you had any thoughts about whether he will ever be PM. Big subject, so understand if you want to leave this one, but Boris is such a charismatic figure, a feature from you on this topic at some stage would be amazing!
I’m a big fan of your blog, sincerely angela.
Angela,
Thanks for the link, and thanks for the kind words. Obviously I’ve heard of Boris Johnson… I even wrote an article about him at the time of the last election for mayor. In the article I was really looking at the Gemini connection.
Astrology aside, I can’t see Boris ever being PM. Isn’t he too much of an individual?
Hi Archie,
I’m scheduled for an exploratory surgery in 5 days and the aspects to my natal chart seem absolutely horrible for that sort of event. I’m not feeling overly anxious, except for the transits. I’m talking, breaking all the rules! What are your thoughts and knowledge on people having surgeries under bad transits? Thanks much. Lynda
Lynda,
I would guess that having surgery isn’t a fun prospect, even at the best of times. So it’s possible that the bad transits are simply reflecting the fact that you’re having an operation.
Also, transits can impact on the way you feel. Being in hospital could have a negative impact on your state of mind.
Though perhaps what you’re fearing is that the bad transits will lead to a negative outcome.
Well, transits are probably an over-rated predictive system, and I don’t think one should predict anything major just on the basis of a transit.
But as I’ve just said, the transits are probably describing what you know you’re about to experience. In other words, they’re nothing to be afraid of!
Thanks Archie. Yes, it does give me concern over the outcome. I don’t want to cancel though, because I might end up with worse transits! …if that’s possible!
I’m having my second saturn return and it’s in virgo/6th house, squared by mars in sag/9th…mars is the ruler of my ascendent, aries. I’m getting hard hits from transiting jupiter, uranus, neptune (all from my 12th)…28 is my saturn/mars degree, so it’s all very precise. I also have natal jupiter at 27 aquarius that sextiles my natal mars/quincunx saturn. Plus, it’s the day before the full moon, and the moon will be in my sun sign of scorpio, very close to my sun/mercury/venus. And Scorpio rules the part of the body that’s getting surgeried. That’s just some of it, but I just wanted to share a bit so you can see what I’m talking about.
Thanks again for the response. Lynda
Lynda,
It’s easy to get overwhelmed by transits, and to be struck by how many are coming together at the same time. And then to get afraid. Or, in terms of good transits, to believe that something wonderful is about to happen. And so often, it turns into a damp squib.
I would be very weary of cancelling an operation because of astrology. Obviously I don’t know what kind of operation you’re having (and I’m not asking) but very often the earlier that something is found the better – assuming there is anything to be found.
Having said that, all things being equal, the Moon is not a great time for Scorpio to be in, especially for Scorpio areas of the body, but I suppose one in 12 operations will have this Moon sign, and in most cases things turn out fine.
Thanks Archie. My spirits are actually strong. The transits just struck me as something that maybe I should question. So I did. All the best. Lynda
Archie, thank you so much for replying. You are right, Boris Johnson is indeed an individual, he is his own man and a deep and fiercely independent thinker.
My interest is because Boris is leading all the betting as the choice for the next Tory Party leader. He is considered to be an even better prospect than William Hague, who has already had a spell as PM.
Additionally, Boris Johnson is hugely popular with Londoners and throughout the country. He is brilliant in the media, and he is candid and direct. People love him, and he can command a lot of support. He is far more charismatic and inspirational than David Cameron, and astrologically, is a man to watch! Take care, angela.
Hi Archie, what does it mean (or maybe, what is it like) to have Saturn as the ruler of the Seventh house of relationships (24Aug1976 India, presently in NYC)? Saturn is such a ‘heavy’ planet, does it mean it will result in burdensome relationships/marriage? My path recently crossed with a nice and pleasant but quite sober man at my workplace, who is much senior to me professionally and is likely older too. I cannot ignore his interest in me anymore and am perplexed because I don’t see much in common between us. Thanks.
Vidya,
All things being equal, having Saturn as ruler of the Seven isn’t the end of the world. Especially as, all things being equal, one in six people will have Saturn ruling their seventh house.
As a broad generalisation, someone with Cancer or Leo covering the First House might well attract someone who is older and perhaps rather slow and boring.
In terms of the person you have met, he might well fit the bill. And just because two people don’t have much in common doesn’t necessarily mean that a marriage isn’t going to work. Though I haven’t looked at this precise question astrologically. There’s no harm in a bit of spontaneity!
Thanks, Archie. I see what you are saying. I guess I don’t need to know all the answers right now; it’s nice to have some surprises. For the time being, it’s definitely a welcome distraction
i’m always in a pannick that i will fail in submitting a good research
sorry archie, but i’m a capricorn, as u know capricorns are active and ambisious, but in some occasions, i feel pannick, or worried about educational matters, as if i will fail submitting a good research
Mona,
I wouldn’t worry! Capricorns like to do their best, and whatever they’re doing, there can be a lot of self-doubt. But if you’re worrying about the quality of your research, that’s surely a good sign? it shows that you are not being complacent, that you’ll be able to go above and beyond the call of duty.
From the point of view of sun sign astrology, at the end of July Saturn goes into Libra. Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn, and Libra is a sign in which it works very well – indeed in the Capricorn solar chart, Libra has a special association with career and status. So perhaps there’ll be a few more doubts, which will spur you to work even harder, and as the Summer progresses things will really come together for you. And you know what? I think you’re already past the worst, and from now on, things are slowly but surely going to get better and better for you.
Hi Archie, I have much concern over my youngest daughter Olivia for the past 2 years. ( born 3/23/98) She has been bullied and socially ignored since around the 4th grade. We live in a small mountain community with only 32 kids in her 6th grade. I am having a difficult decision on whether to allow her to go to the public middle school next year ( with 140 kids in the 7th grade), a private school (like a Waldorf atmosphere) or just home school her. The private school would be a huge financial strain on our family. But the mental effect of the years of not being accepted from her peers is making her ill and depressed at the young age of 12. I am eager for guidance as to how we can help her get through this trying time in her life, that will ultimately mold who she becomes in the future.
Thank you very much, Lisa
Lisa, thanks very much for you question. You haven’t given me the time and place of your daughter’s birth, and I understand that you mightn’t want to reveal that on a public forum. So, I will have to just work with the birthday. And also with the horoscope I set up, for the time I read and understood your question.
Now, when you read what I say, please take it with a pinch of salt. I may be wrong, and I don’t want to create any self-fulfilling prophecies.
First off, it seems that you and your daughter have a very strong connection. Of course mothers and daughters tend to have strong connections, but in your case it’s particularly powerful, and you do make each other feel strong. So together I believe that you can make the right decision.
I should also say that I am not worried about your daughter. Whatever is decided, she’ll come out of it fine.
To be more specific, the horoscope for the time I understood your question suggests that in some way your daughter will be ‘rescued’ – moving from a bad situation to a good one. And I suspect that that rescue will come from you, and my feeling is that home schooling is the way forward. As you say, the private school will be expensive, and in the short-term at least, you can’t afford it.
Now, you say ‘or just home school her’. Well, it’s not really ‘just’, is it? That’s a major step. The horoscope for the question you asked suggests that part of the underlying issue might be higher education, and if you want to home school her, you yourself might have to go back to school, so as to keep up. Nonetheless, I get a strong signature of ‘you the educator’.
Turning to your daughter’s chart, and I actually feel quite confident that home education is the right thing to do, provided you’re able to put in the effort.
She’s a girl who is very independent-minded, and really likes to do things her way. She has got the Sun, Mars, Mercury and Saturn in Aries, and the Moon, Venus, Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius. She can be a rebel and a non-conformist, and this could make her vulnerable to bullying. Especially over the next few years, when Saturn aspects her Aries planets. Indeed, in late 2009 and early this year it already started to happen.
Put simply, if any child can benefit from home-schooling, then surely it’s your child?
Though bear in mind that I don’t have your daughter’s birth chart, and I am writing this answer quickly, and I might be jumping to conclusions.
wow, you pretty much described Olivia.

I’m telling you mine to give you some insight on who I am, to make sure you feel that I truly am capable of being the “educator”… Honestly Archie it is a HUGE responsibility and I’m unsure of myself, in way that I won’t be able to give her not only the educational but the social nutrition that a young mind and the soul needs in order to grow. However, I am in a position to be at home, I own my own graphic design company and not constrained with a 9-5 outside job.
Thank you for your perspective. I’ll sit quietly on this for awhile ~ Lisa
Lisa,
I haven’t looked at your horoscope. I’ve instead looked again at the chart for your question. I do feel that you can do it, and something that’s been holding you back has only just slipped its grasp of your.
By the way, you mentioned your daughter being depressed. Well, I think while Saturn is aspecting her Aries planets, over the next couple of years, she needs to be in a secure and nurturing environment. A school where is being bullied is not the place to be… though I am weary of what I’m writing and the impact of my words. She needs support, and an environment where she can express herself. And that’s probably at home.
But what does your daughter think? Surely, with all those Aries and Aqurius planets, she’s got an opinion on the matter?
all she wants is to meet new friends. It’s like she’s been starved in that area, only so much her father and I can do with her play wise, and still work. She likes being home, safe secure, does well with her work. She’s socially like a 4th grader, something happened that just stunned her in place around 10. yrs old. We have had her tested for everything in the past year (sleep study at Dartmouth cause she can;t sleep) allergy testing, tonsils out, IQ testing, 3 therapists to check for Asperger’s or Non verbal learning disorder, and in the past few months she is regressing, baby talk, lying, disconnecting with people, not taking care of her appearances etc… she aces science, pretty good in math is amazing with art and music, but reading and comprehension is again like a 4th grader. So learning disorder is ruled out. So we are going back to Dartmouth to have more testing done. Only 5 weeks left of school, and she just asked to take another day off tomorrow. So I usually let her rest, but like being thrown from a horse, I need her to try and ride again.
I will note your advice ” Saturn is aspecting her Aries planets, over the next couple of years, she needs to be in a secure and nurturing environment.”
Can’t thank you enough for your time Archie. You are a wonderful gift to our world.~ Lisa
Please help! my DO is 3-24-73 at 8am, mexicali-mexico. I just received a friend’s call letting me know of a clerk position (County’s office, good salary, benefits, etc) I don’t know what to do! right now I have a job that might not be the best of the world, generally speaking, but I’ve had it for 6 yrs now. I need stability, I have big responsabilities, I don’t want my current boss to get mad at me…….please advise!! (and please comment anything you see in my personal life that is kind of tragic but I just don’t have the energy to fixing it!)
SORRY, correction, DOB is 3-27-73, 8am mexicali, mexico
Ines,
Thanks for the question. I didn’t set up your horoscope, I instead looked at the chart for the time I received your question.
It does seem that your career is bothering you at the moment, and you perhaps find your working environment to be completely stifling. However I think that things are past their worst.
As far as what you should do now, I suspect it might be a bit early to make a decision. Also, nothing is quite as it seems. So before rushing after the new job, make a few enquiries. You might then discover that something is being hidden from you.
However I must emphasise that it’s probably too soon to make an absolute decision. The situation you’re in needs to develop. And once you’ve got the facts you might be in a better position to make up your mind.
If you want to ask the question again, you can… but wait a few weeks, until you really know what you’re asking.
Having said that, my hunch is that the new job isn’t quite as wonderful as it seems on the surface. However the chart for your question doesn’t allow me to give you a clear answer.
Thanks Archie!
You’re 100% correct about my current position at work. Is good to know that things are past their worst! I will wait a few weeks as you recommended. It was never my tought of getting another job, but if this is something much better and could mean a significant improvement, I would not like to miss it out. Another inquiry; what do you think about card readings? my friend is very fond in this and yesterday I went along for a card reading and OMG I did not like what I was told. I’m skeptical, and is not because of the info, it’s because I don’t have this habit and find it kind of fictitious …..what is your position about this?
Thank you very much for your time!
You’re very appreciated! Have a nice day:)

Dear Archie.Thank you for taking the time to respond. You’re quite right..there are a few obstacles I need to overcome before leaving the country. My deepest hope is that I sort them out as speedily as possible as I am mentally and emotionally exhausted living in constant fear in this country.Thank you for your comments. It has giving me clarity on a few issues. You rock!
Hi Archie,
I’m desperately looking for help to tell me what I should do next. It’s about my job. My company is extremely political that my current boss and the senior management see me as a member of the previous management team. In other words, they don’t see me part of their team. However, they all know my capabilities and when there is difficult thing, they know I’m the one to handle. My MD thought that my output was not justified to the pay I got. But it’s nothing to do with my work quality and quantity. It’s my boss (she admitted to me) that she doesn’t know how to explain my work to the MD. My boss is an extremely obedient “yes-man” type. She has no prior training or experience in my work area. She was simply promoted to my previous boss’ position because of her obedience to the MD. Talking about my work, I always receive good praise and comments. Now, I feel stuck in my current job. I’ve been trying to look for other opportunities; yet nothing materializes. Could you advise me what should I do next and when I could get out from this predicament?
Many thanks,
Alice
Hello Archie,
I would like to ask you a question about astrology because I know I will get a straightforward answer.
Some astrologers talk about planet transits as if they will affect us immediately. My question is related to Saturn’s transit in Libra. Saturn is usually feared and it’s transits last for approximately 2.5 years but I guess it will not affect a person/house for all that time, right? My question is: How many degrees from house cusp we start to feel its effects most? I mean, if the house cusp is xx degrees in Libra, than in which +/- degree range of the transit are the effects strongest?
Thanks,
Amy
Amy,
Thanks for the question. When you’re dealing with Saturn’s transits through the houses, you’re probably talking about something fairly general, especially when referring to the non-angular houses (ie any house except the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th.
Remember also that everyone will have Saturn going through one of their houses at any particular time. Which reinforces the idea that house transits are pretty general.
For example, I’ve currently got Saturn going through my Sixth House. So far I haven’t had any terrible health issues, but we have acquired a dog, and small animals are associated with the sixth house. Having the dog is a Saturnine challenge for me. I am not a dog person, I’m allergic to the animal and I’m not particularly good at controlling her.
As far as cusps are concerned, traditionally a planet starts to operate 5 degrees before the cusp – so Saturn would start to have a sixth house effect when it was mathematically still in the fifth house.
There is a view that the exact degree of the Placidus house cusp is especially significant, by I’m not sure about that. Ie when Saturn makes an exact transit to the non-angular house cusp.
So as you can see, there is nothing to fear about Saturn transiting a house. Indeed there is an argument that when Saturn is in Libra, the sign of its exaltation, the malevolence of its transits will be be mitigated.
Now I should say that everything I’ve said so far relates to Western astrology. In term of Hindu astrology it’s a different picture. A house generally covers a whole sign, and transits are also whole sign. So if I have Mars in Virgo in the 12th, Saturn will be making an opposition to Mars throughout its passage through Pisces – and while it’s in Pisces it will be in the Twelfth House. Of course in the East and West they use different Zodiacs.
I hope that answers your question. But to re-iterate, Saturn house transits tend to be pretty general, and certainly nothing to be afraid of.
Hi Archie,
Thank you very much for your reply. It makes a lot of sense with what I have been experiencing so far with the Saturn transit. I’m a Gemini rising and Libra rules my fifth house – actually it is in 0°23′ Libra. So I have experienced (and still continue to experience) the Saturn “symptoms” – feeling lonely and unloved, no time or opportunity for hobbies or fun, etc. I hope that the effects of this transit should begin to ease when the Saturn is in 6-7° Libra and I would have learned the lesson that Saturn wants to teach me. I understand that other aspects are also important and thank you for pointing that out.
I would have another question. Currently Saturn is in Virgo and in my natal chart Virgo does not appear at all because my 4th house is an intercepted one (both 3 and 4 are in Leo). Obviously the same is happening with the 9th and 10th – both Aquarius, no Pisces sign. I wanted to know what is your view on intercepted houses and the transit of important planets through these intercepted houses? For example Saturn is in Virgo, Jupiter is in Pisces, Uranus was in Pisces too and will return again. Are these transits less important just because they happen to be in signs that do not appear in a natal chart?
Thank you,
Amy
Hi Archie,
I am a Capricorn, with ascendent in Pisces. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t!
Anyway, I once read that your ascendent is where you are moving to across the course of your life, away from your desdendent. What’s your view on the ascendent?
Gabi
Gabi,
Thanks a lot for the question. Your description of the Ascendant and Descendant seems to me to be a better description of the North and South Node of the Moon – the North Node being where we’re going to, the South Node where we are coming from. Of course that’s just my opinion, and I hadn’t really thought about the Ascendant in the way you describe.
My basic conception of the Ascendant, at least in a psychological sense, relates to ‘the persona’. It is the mask that we wear as we go through life, the mask in which we feel the most comfortable. It is not necessarily the true self. As far as the descendant is concerned, it’s the area of our life that we’re least conscious of, that we’re most likely to ‘project’. So if you have Virgo on the Descendant, that might represent your desire for order, that you’re not fully aware of (though maybe you are aware of it, because you are a Capricorn!). Under these circumstances you might be presented with your suppressed Virgo personality traits via one-to-one relationships.
At least that’s one view – though I am not trying to describe your personality!
Hi Archie,
My date of birth is the 23.03.59 and i am not too sure about time but think it was around 6am. I have written a book and am currently in the process of having it proffesionally edited before I start the process of getting it published. Can you tell me if it will get published?
Kind Regards
Yvonne
Sorry, Yvonne again, born Durban, South Africa
Thanks
Yvonne
Yvonne,
I have not looked at your birth chart and I am not going to answer your question. The reason is very simple. You are in the process of trying to get a book published. From experience I know how difficult this is, and how easy it is to get knocked back. You have to be positive, and you have to try all avenues. If I gave you a negative answer – and I must emphasise that I have made NO attempt to answer your question – I could be creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. You’ve written your book, you’re getting it edited, and you must now get it published.
Hello Archie,
I was born on November 22nd in Batavia, NY at 7:02 am. when I look at my own chart I suspect I will come to a very violent end at my passing. (FYI:Venus in aspect to Jupiter in the 12th Conjuct Serpentis and the North scale has proven to bring CRUMMY luck with men!) what are your thoughts?
Christina, I’m sure it’s not that bad, and I would love to answer your question. But I do need a year of birth!
Archie,
So sorry, how stupid of me! my YOB is 1970.
Christina,
Thanks for your fun question. Vivian Robson (author of a famous book on fixed stars) isn’t too worried about Jupiter conjunct the Northern Scale – he links it with a good mind, good communication skills and ecclesiastical or legal preferment.
As far as relationships are concerned, I would agree that the position of your Venus isn’t perfect – it’s retrograde, in Scorpio the sign of its detriment and it’s in the Twelfth House widely opposition to Saturn in Taurus. HOWEVER it is in mutual reception by sign with Mars in Libra. This rather takes the sting out it, if you’ll forgive the pun.
I should also say that you have the degree of the star Caput Algol close to the Descendant. This is a rather difficult star, and it’s possible that you attract men who aren’t particularly pleasant.
Under these circumstances, you shouldn’t rush into relationships – you need to take your time, so as to get to know someone as a person.
Though don’t get too worried about Algol – it’s some way from the ecliptic, and according to my calculations the physical body of the star was over eleven degrees above the horizon when you were born, in the North West.
As to why you think you’ll come to a violent end… I suspect you’re sensitive to what’s going on in the world, especially now. You have a Jupiter-Saturn opposition in your chart, and right now there’s a Jupiter-Saturn opposition. So you see what’s going on in the world, and you might be internalising it. In other words, rather than fear for yourself, you should perhaps be fearing for humanity.
Finally, every horoscope has negative features, that it’s easy to fixate on. But really, they’re nothing much to worry about. Your love life needn’t be crumby, and you can live a long and happy life.
