A bit about me. I am a real person, with a diploma in astrology from the Faculty of Astrological Studies, in the UK. I also have two degrees in psychology. I have run my own astrology school in the distant past, and from the feedback I received, I believe I was considered a good teacher. As far as online tutoring is teaching is concerned, I currently spend a lot of my time tutoring psychology and statistics to American graduate students. I should also mention that I have written two books on popular astrology – they went out of print with dinosaurs, but if you do a Google search of my name, you’ll soon run into them.
I am in the process of preparing a free astrology course. I am offering this course over the next few months because I understand that a lot of people want to learn about astrology, at a time when the coronavirus is ravaging the world. I also understand that money may be tight, and people may want to cut out unnecessary expenditure.
The course will be online. I am still working out the best form of delivery. I am currently working on a method of delivery, and I am inclinced towards a Youtube video where I present some information, and then some form of group conversation on a Discord server. However, I do want everyone enrolled on the course to submit homework, either in a written or audio form. Presenting your ideas is important.
While I want to offer everyone an offer to enrol in the course who wants to, this course is probably not suitable to someone who has a dogmatic view about what astrology is, and it should be interpreted and used. I have ideas about astrology, which I have developed over thirty years of practice, and I don’t want to enter into an argument. Having said that, I am not a crank. I should also say that I am a generalist. If you only want to know about a single areas of astrology, you’re always going to find someone who knows more than me. You can get an idea about the sweep of my interests by looking at what I have posted on this website.
In terms of level, I want a course that caters for a beginner to intermediate level. If you aready know a lot about astrology, I am hoping that you will find early modules interesting, because I am adopting a different approach to the one you are used to. My aim is, that at the end of the course you will have a system for interpreting a chart.
So the modules I am planning having are as follows:
1.What is astrology and how does it work?
2. The ten planets.
3. Elements, Quadruplicities and signs.
4. The Twelve Houses.
5. The major aspects.
6. Chart interpretation.
7. Transits.
As far as my motives are concerned, I haven’t taught astrology for some time, and I want to get back in the swing of it. By running a free course, I can get a feel for what works and what doesn’t, and also get an idea about what people want.
But I would be grateful for any feedback about what material to include or exclude. You can comment on this page.
