Cancer Monthly Horoscope for August 2010

The month kicks off with a conjunction between Mars and Saturn, which takes place in the domestic sector of your solar chart.

The immediate impact of this conjunction will be short-lived. You might find, for example, that during the first week of August your family are troublesome, and that family commitments appear to stand in the way of progress.

However both Mars and Saturn are in this same sector of your chart all month long. It’s a time when you need to take family matters very seriously, and you must try to understand your family’s point of view. At the same time, you mustn’t feel frustrated by what’s going on in your home. There are some things that have to be restructured, the sooner the better.

On August 9 or 10, depending on your time zone, there’s a New Moon, in Leo. This New Moon could have a big impact on your finances. You might realise that it’s time to turn over a new leaf, to tone down some of your extravagances. On the other hand, you might find that in the weeks following the New Moon there’s something you desperately want to buy. But can you afford it?

Looking at your career, it’s possible that you have to go back over old ground. You thought you’d got everything sorted out, but you’re now having second thoughts. And maybe, over the next next few months, you’ll have to do some learning. You might discover something very surprising!

As far as your love life is concerned, it’s important that you play to your strengths. If you’re typical of your star sign you put a high premium on security, and you’ve got the capacity to make other people feel comfortable. And once they’re comfortable, they’ll be eating out of your hand.

Yet I’m not saying that August is going to be a wonderful month for finding love – at best it’ll be average, and if you’re looking for a short-term fling then as likely as not you’ll be out of luck. Though the best time for finding romantic satisfaction is probably August 20, or thereabouts. Venus and Mars are making a conjunction, and your seductive abilities will be on peak form.

Finally, I should point out that on August 16 Jupiter and Saturn are making an 180-degree aspect to each other. You’ve got big plans for the future, but you also realise that you’re facing some major obstacles. Under these circumstances you must be very patient, and you must make sure that you’re covered from every angle.
