    Hi Archie!
Are Meghan and Harry going to break up? If so, when?

    • Archie Dunlop February 23, 2020, 7:58 am

Thanks for the question. I’m giving it some thought. My first impression, based on a horary chart I just cast, is that we shouldn’t be too hastey when it comes to writing off their marriage. But I’ll reply in more detail later. In fact, I’ll write a blog post about it.

I wonder if you might ever do a post on Nazi journalist and politician Julius Streicher? His chart is remarkable for the lack of fire and of water – every planet is in Earth or Air. Between 1780 and 2100 such configurations occur in no decade except the 1880s, and Streicher also has Taurus Ascendant and Capricorn Midheaven.

How would this configuration – with powerful tenth and eleventh houses – explain Streicher’s attraction to and skill at viciously anti-Semitic journalism?

    • Archie Dunlop March 8, 2020, 7:02 pm

Thanks for the question. I’ll write an article later in the week. Streicher is interesting, aside from his chart. He was the Nuremberg war criminal with supposedly the lowest IQ, OF 106.

nurture vs nature. If astrology is nature surely we need to develop technology that helps us combat our natural tendencies. This technology does not seem to be astrology at all. What is your view on this if we are in hell surely the only way out is to ignore the fear and concentrate on love and be ourselves. What we resist we make stronger. Astrology seems to always want to bring out the fear in others. What you look at you create more of. I confirm that every negative holds a positive inside it. Fear is imbalance and being pure is balance.

ALL signs can have VERY good people and VERY bad people . My question is ~ How were the signs ( Sea-goat, Virgin, Crab, Two fish swimming in opposite directions, the twins ,ETC.discovered ? Connect the dots (stars) and who discovered it all ? I am AVID believer in GOD and astrology ( so were THE MAGI !!!!!!!!!!!! ) ~ Just wonder what people/person first discovered it !

    • Archie Dunlop June 8, 2020, 8:58 pm

Myths around the constellations have existed for 4000 years or more, encompassing just about every culture. It was natural to join the dots, and create pictures out of the chaos of the starry sky. So I don’t think it was a quesiton of discovery, more about an evolved awareness. In terms of specifics, we should probably look to the Babylonians and Greeks. As to why meanings are relevant, I would probably see it in turns of humanity’s collection unconscious and collective memory. We have created meanings, and the meanings have shaped out consciousness.

    Hi Archie!
When should I use the Whole House System instead of the Placidus when analyzing a birth chart?

    Regards,
    Alex

    • Archie Dunlop June 13, 2020, 3:34 am

      Alex,

I think it is a matter of choice, but the whole sign system is associated with Alexandrine and Greek astrology. So if you are using a technique such as zodiacal releasing, or annual profections, then it is probably best to use the whole sign system. On the other hand, if you are using regular transits and progressions, then you should probably go for Placidus. If you are doing horary astrology, using William Lilly’s method, then Placidus should be OK, though ideally you would use Regiomontanus.

Of course Vedic astrology always uses whole sign houses, to my knowledge.

      • Alex June 15, 2020, 2:11 am

There is already a problem with the time of birth. Nurses should take note of the moment of first breath. In my birth certificate it is noted 10.20 am, but my first breath should be at 9.54 am.

Then if you have to choose between Placidus and Whole, it’s going to be a mess.

If you do chart interpretation for yourself and family members, you can eventually sort it out, but if you have to do it for a client, especially in the first consultation, it’s very easy to reach the wrong conclusions about house affairs.

Or maybe, you shouldn’t consider houses, but only planetary aspects.

You mentioned you would be posting about the stock market again. What do you think will be the performance of the market and the US economy especially around and a year after the US elections?

    • Archie Dunlop June 24, 2020, 5:41 pm

If Trump stands, he will lose. As far as the stock market is concerned, my current view is that there are similaritieis between now and late 1999/ early 2000. There was a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in May 2000, about two months after the NASDAQ peaked. Likewise there is a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on December 21 2020. So overall I am negative, and I am of the view that we won’t get back to normal for a few years, at least.

      • Pam November 8, 2020, 10:46 pm

        Hi Archie,

I appreciate your articles and approach to astrology. Any ideas on the stock market and why it continues to go up, given everything else that is going on. I read a lot of astro reports and it was all doom and gloom for the markets, but this is not what is happening. Wonder why. Will there be a downturn in the coming months?

        Thanks 🙂
        Pam

        • Archie Dunlop November 9, 2020, 8:40 am

          Pam,

Thank you for visiting my site. I am weary of making predictions about the markets at the moment. My feeling was that there could be a down-turn in late October. This did happen, but it wasn’t particularly extreme. It now feels that we’re over the danger period. Overall, I think I need a bit of time to consider the matter.

  • Jas July 15, 2020, 7:10 pm

    Hello Archie!

Would you be able to have a look at Kamala Harris and the possibility of her becoming next VP, and perhaps even president??

Obviously this is a difficult time for the world, and with COVID travel is difficult for everyone. As far as your chart is concerned, I don’t think it is catastrophic, though I understand why astrologers might have been negative about it. For example, you have the Moon in Scorpio in the Fourth House, conjunct Saturn and opposition Mars. However, your Moon is in Scorpio in the navamsa chart, and I think this mitigates the problem, because of vargottama. In terms of the present, from 2011 through to 2031 you are in a period of life ruled by Venus. According to Vedic astrology’s shad bala system, Venus is the strongest planet in your chart. It is in the 7th House of marriage, and rules the 10th house of career. The only problem is, that in the sidereal zodiac used by many Indian astrologers it is at 29 degrees 58 Aquarius. Right at the end of a sign, and this does reduce Venus’ effectivness. One approach to the problem, which maybe your astrologer didn’t mention, is employing an antidote. This involves honouring Venus. Things you can do without resorting to expensive interventions are making Fridays special (Venus rules Fridays), being extra-virtuous on Fridays, and saying mantras connected with Venus. Overall, I see a marked improvement in your life from February 2022 onwards. In the shorter term, things may be more difficult – but it may be that your desire for travel, love and success are stopping you get what you want. Your chart isn’t that bad, and perhaps you just need to step back from things a bit. I do understand that in India 33 is regarded as being a little old to marry, but obviously in the West it isn’t such an issue. There are, I should also say, indication of children between 2022 and 2024. That is not a promise, it is an opportunity – and I am not saying that things can’t happen before or after these dates.

    Hi Archie!

How do think Mars going direct is going to impact Donald Trump’s behavior over the next few months? I’ve noticed that it will be traveling the path Uranus has taken during his Presidency. I am thinking he will *feel* empowered but that the collective energy and larger forces are not with him. Thanks!

    • Archie Dunlop November 13, 2020, 12:21 am

I am thinking. Will reply soon.

  • Feina November 26, 2020, 8:07 am

I have many transiting planets (Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter) in house 12th and I feel my action is driven by concerns about solitude and isolation. I feel I am pushed to self-undoing. How can I cope with that?

    • Archie Dunlop November 26, 2020, 9:05 am

      I’ll reply later today.

    • Archie Dunlop December 3, 2020, 9:39 pm

      Feina,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I think you have to remember that Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto, as they are now in conjunction, are affecting one house in everyone’s chart. You might have these planets in the 12th, but others will have them somewhere else. So I would suggest that you don’t overinterpret the transit. Also, you have to consider the collective dimension. Everyone is affected by COVID, and with these planets going through the 12th, you might be more affected than most. In terms of self-undoing, this is a traditional view of the 12th, but I am not sure that it is always true. You don’t have to undo yourself, and isolation can have its benefits. You can rethink your priorities, for example.

Archie, after reading your bitcoin post, I am setting up a crypto account. I am not in a position to invest much (sadly).
    I listened to a long astrology podcast…
    https://youtu.be/PdSLTMlLx8s
Robert Weinstein, seems to be very well versed in bitcoin astrology, as did the interviewer.
Robert mentioned that a crypto called chainlink had a really good birthday. He then went back to talking about bitcoin.
He does an astrological report $125 for a year.
I would happily pay you that for a simple to follow buy hold sell buy again scenario for the next year or two/three.
I am not an astrologer so simple is good for me.
I accept you can also get things wrong. No problem if it all goes pear shaped.
I know you have studied bitcoin, I don’t know about chainlink. Interestingly, SWIFT, the bank transfer people appear to have partnered with it (chainlink).
Let me know what you think.
    John

  • Sarah Promislow January 15, 2021, 5:31 pm

hello! i have a question about my chart. i have two stellia – one in scorpio (moon, mercury, mars, pluto) and one in libra (sun, venus, jupiter). sun, jupiter, moon and mars all in my fourth house with mercury and pluto in my fifth. ALL ten planets are within libra through aquarius – the other signs are uranus/neptune capricorn and saturn aquarius.
can you tell me the significance of having 2 stellia, these 2 in particular, and having such a skewed chart toward the bottom right quadrant? thanks!!

    • Archie Dunlop January 15, 2021, 8:46 pm

I suppose you could regard it as being two stellia… or one big stellia. With all these planets on the IC side of your chart, I would in some ways have said that you were quite grounded, in spite of having no traditional planets in Earth signs (ie Uranus and Neptune don’t count). You know what is important, and you understand both the importance and the problems of the family. What is actually incredible about your chart is that all your traditional planets are in Air and Water signs. I think Jung described Air and Water as the rational elements. There are two types of rationality – coming from the feelings and from the intellect. Sometimes you can feel the difference between right and wrong, other times you can work it out with your brain. The Earth and Fire signs, by contrast, are irrational. So you are someone who does the right thing. Going back to the concentration, it is much better to have the concentration at the bottom of the chart, like you have, than at the top of the chart. You’re anchored, and you’re not going to capsize. I should also say that your Uranus and Neptune are very close together. You’re part of a generation that understands that the world is chaotic, and perhaps with your Mercury closely sextile this conjunction you can harness this energy, in a creative sense. On the downside, don’t get too into yourself and your particular view of the world – and steer clear of drugs and alcohol and people addicted to them.

Given your previous posts on The Biden presidency: a star-crossed inauguration (possible term cut short), The astrology of Kamala Harris (possible new president) and 2021: Should I be worried about the Saturn-Uranus square? (More violence), How does the the full moon in libra and astrology for the 28th of March 2021 affect the US government, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden on this specific date? Is this significant? I am seeing a pattern here that seems to be reflected back and confirmed by another. Just would like your input on this.

  • Martyn January 28, 2021, 12:50 pm

Can astrology be used for advice on crypto investments like bitcoin and defi and alt coins and their possible movements?

Could this make for offering financial advice?

What are your views on this? Can the peaks and dips of a stock have a correlation to when those companies were created and astrology?

    • Archie Dunlop January 28, 2021, 7:47 pm

      Martyn,

Sorry for my slow reply. Generally, I think astrology cannot work in isolation – you have to look at what else is going on, and in terms of the stock market that includes things like technical and fundametal analysis. With cryptos, there are times when a move is obvious – Saturn and Mercury’s move into Capricorn at the end of 2017 / beginning of 2018 brought the last crypto bull market to an end. One has to think about what would change a market’s direction. However, I am part of an older generation of astrologers, who was influenced by the October 1987 crash. As a result of that crash, many astrologers have been almost programmed to look for another one, and it just hasn’t happened in quite the way we were programmed to think. And the markets are not just about crashes. We know there are risks of inflation and devaluaton, and in 1931, when there was a waning Saturn-Uranus square, there was a collapse in the value of the British Pound. We’re now facing another Saturn-Uranus square, and it is the dollar rather the GBP that is the world’s reserve currency. I should also say that I think that the Gamestop sage may be part of the Saturn-Uranus square. It is the clash between the free spirit of the Redditers, and the establishment. I think we are going to see larger scale breakdowns, where established interested in the financial world are threatened. As for market direction, on a day when the Standard and Poor is up over 500 points (the last time I looked) I am not going to predict when the market will collapse.

      • Martyn January 29, 2021, 1:28 am

        Archie,
Astrology seems to be something that can take a while to learn but at the end of the day be of use, I am only curious. Financial markets don`t seem to be completely random in nature there are patterns just like there are patterns in nature. Astrology does seem to have a pattern to it and I guess it would be hard to guess a market crash. But seeming as there is almost a mathematical element to this I wonder based on the history of one stock taking into account a number of economic factors and statistics and technical analysis I am wondering if the market could be predicted roughly within a space of a two or three week period. Seeing a possible crash would allow a stock to be purchased at the lowest point to create the maximum amount of profit providing a company for example does not go bust and then there is the moment to sell when a stock reaches a high point or just starts to dip. I think I need to stick to my day job but there is a curiosity about being able to take advantage of Astrology to turn it into something real. It might seem like greed but I think money can be used to help others as well as provide financial stability. I don`t think there is anything wrong with that especially at the moment when so many people could be out of a job within the next few years. I would not say that it is a good time to invest in crypto either given how turbulent this month has been. In 1987 from what I can remember there was a storm in the UK, where I am from, that was famously not predicted. It caused devastation and triggered a selling of stock and up to that point there was an asset bubble at the same time. So given a situation whereby stocks are inflated like the dotcom tech bubble from the last 1990s until the early 2000s there is a correction and mass sell that occurs. During the latter stages of a bubble people think it is going to continue so there is fear of missing out but then there is fear of losing your investment to a down turn and that is when a stock can take a dive in value. Often afterwards stocks recover and in the long term investments make good gains. Interesting how would someone who is interested in patterns learn about Astrology? It seems like it could be another tool that could be used for benefit given a wider knowledge on a subject, to compliment rather than be the single point of information.

Hello& good day to you Archie. I stumbled upon your site after googling Derek Chauvin birth chart info & landed here! Really enjoying he content and i will continue to visit your site.
My question is about my relationship in relation to a lot of challenging aspects in our synastry (11 to be exact) and i am trying to overcome them but it is definitely challenging. What do you suggest especially when the odds are against us? I’m Sun Pisces, Moon Cancer, Libra Rising and he is Sun Aries, Moon Aquarius, Capricorn Rising

    • Archie Dunlop March 29, 2021, 10:22 pm

      Erica,

Thank you for visiting my website. Any relationship can work, regardless of how good or bad the aspects are. On the basis of what you have asked, I think I will fall back on the simplicities of Sun sign astrology. You’re a Pisces, and Pisces women can sometimes play the martyr. Waiting for their man, sacrificing themselves for their him, allowing themselves to be strung out and humiliated. So you have to ask what the dynamic is in the relationship. If your partner is being demanding and selfish, in other words Aries at its worst, then you need to consider whether you’re in the right relationship. Having said all that, you don’t want to create self-fulfilling prophecies.
