This week’s big event is Saturn’s movement into Libra, which takes place on Wednesday, at 4.10 pm London time, which is 11.10 am in New York, 8.10 am in Los Angeles. Though really, the precise time doesn’t matter.
Saturn is a slow-moving planet, and it spends a few years in each sign. It was briefly in Libra at the end of last year and beginning of this, before going back into the previous sign of Virgo. But it’s now going to make the big entry, and it will stay in Libra until the end of 2012.
When Saturn is in Libra we’re being called on to behave responsibly, and our various relationships have to be taken very seriously. At the same time, we’ll be thinking hard about the laws of the country in which we live. Are they fulfilling their purpose? Are they too permissive or too strict?
On a short-term level, zero degrees Libra is a very important point in astrology – it relates to the Equinoxes, and it can be a gateway for new energy. And when a planet gets close to zero degrees Libra we can feel its affects in a big way.
Under these circumstances, it’s going to be a week when Saturn is very much in evidence. Everything will be hard work, and we’ll become very aware of our responsibilities. It’s not a time to be sloppy.
I’ll now do a quick run-down of how the twelve signs might fare over the coming week.
Aries Other people really matter! Not just now, but over the next few years. At the end of the week you can do something really special, that demonstrates to the world how wonderfully creative you are.
Taurus You’ll realise that words on their own are of limited use, that at some stage they have to be backed up with concrete promises. Your home becomes an oasis of calm.
Gemini The best stories are carefully told – you make sure that the details are all in order, that you don’t give away too much too early. Arrogance can occasionally be a virtue.
Cancer As the the week progresses you think carefully about your security. There are things you can do to safeguard your future. The Sun’s movement into Leo gives a seasonal boost to your finances.
Leo As the Sun moves from Cancer to Leo you start coming into your own. You realise what you’re capable of achieving, and through the power of your personality you can move mountains.
Virgo Saturn is leaving your star sign. Many Virgos will feel a great sense of relief, that you can now be free as well as happy. But over the next few years financial discipline will be important.
Libra This week Saturn enters your star sign. It’s a new beginning, when you can live up to your responsibilities without having to apologise. Over the weekend a friendship moves into top gear.
Scorpio It’s an important time of year for Scorpios. The Sun is about to move into the career sector of your chart, and you’ve got a chance to prove yourself, in a big way. Avoid going on holiday!
Sagittarius If there’s something you want you can get it – but are you ready to put in the work? Over the weekend there could be important contacts, of an overseas nature.
Capricorn This week Saturn, your ruling planet, moves into the career sector of your solar chart. You’re ready to move up a gear, to focus everything you’ve got on the achievement of your business goals. The best things in life are worth waiting for.
Aquarius As the week progresses you’ll start realising how important other people are. They provide the missing ingredient and through the right relationship you can discover the real you.
Pisces Jupiter, your ruling planet, is slowing down, and on Friday it comes to a standstill. As a result you’ll be able to go back over old ground – and in the process rediscover your spark.
