Astrological Forecast: Monday June 14 to Sunday June 20

by Archie Dunlop on June 13, 2010

I think it’s unlikely to be a very exciting week, and that’s probably a good thing.  Over the last few months things have been very hectic, with Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus causing mayhem and chaos.  We can now stop what we’re doing, and pause for breath.

On Monday night or Tuesday morning, depending on your time zone, Venus moves from Cancer to Leo, where it goes on to aspect Jupiter and Uranus.  Overall this is a fortunate development, and relationships should prosper.  However we should bear in mind that some people have a high opinion of themselves – which means that a bit of flattery can go a long way.

As far as money is concerned, the Venus-Jupiter aspect could be very fortunate.  We’ll be luckier than average, and through a combination of enthusiasm and charisma we can open many doors for ourselves.  However shopping trips should be avoided – we could spend far more than expected.

While everyone can benefit from Venus and Jupiter’s fortunate contact, it’s Taureans and Librans who’ll benefit the most – after all, Venus is their ruling planet.  Taureans can find domestic bliss, while Librans can find love.

As far as the World Cup is concerned, I see no reason to change my prediction that England won’t win the competition, especially in light of their lacklustre performance against the USA.

If you’re not following the World Cup, England conceded a goal, as a result of a horrendous blunder by their goalkeeper Robert Green.

Robert Green was born on January 18 1980, so he’s a Capricorn.  He’s a got a lot of planets in Earth signs, and in spite of the criticism being levelled against him, under normal circumstances he’s a safe pair of hands.

At the time of his mistake, Mars in Virgo was making a stressful, 180-degree aspect to his Venus in Pisces.  It was a bit of temporary aggravation, which probably caused him to lose his concentration. It certainly shouldn’t be held against him.

While I’m talking about sports, I notice that on some internet bulletin boards there’s a been some banter about the relative merits of soccer and American football.  Soccer is boring, because you can go through a whole match without a goal being scored.  Yet American football has no flow and is only played by Americans.

Of course such arguments are silly, and they fail to take into account the collective unconscious.  It doesn’t matter what the rules are, or what shape the ball is.  You instead have to recognise that they’re embedded into a national or even international psyche.  American football is an integral part of  being American, while soccer is all part of being English or Brazilian or Spanish.
