Today, Wednesday April 28, there was a Full Moon. It wasn’t great. I was taking the dog for a walk, when a woman asked me to help her fix her son’s bicycle. The chain was wedged between the frame and the gear cog, and try as I might, I couldn’t shift it. In the process my hands got covered in oil, and I sliced open my thumb.
This Full Moon was in Scorpio. It’s a stubborn sign, just like the bike chain, and the harder you try to shift it, the worse it gets. Scorpio will even lash out and sting you, which is of course what happened to my thumb.
However it could have been worse. I could have been British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. He had a terrible day. While campaigning in the town of Rochdale, he had a lively discussion with an ordinary voter – a woman in her sixties, by the name of Gillian Duffy. Although she was planning to vote for Gordon Brown’s party, she was critical of his immigration policy.
Nonetheless, Gordon Brown parted company with Gillian Duffy on amicable terms, and he said to her, according to the BBC, ‘Very nice to meet you, very nice to meet you’.
Following the encounter, Gordon Brown got into a car, with a radio microphone still attached to him. According to The Daily Telegraph, he remarked:
That was a disaster – they should never have put me with that woman.
And…
Whose idea was that? It’s just ridiculous.
When he was asked what Gillian Duffy had said, he replied:
Everything, she was just a bigoted woman.
As you can imagine, this is major news in the UK. And once Gordon Brown was aware of the enormity of the situation, he went to her house and made a personal, face-to-face apology.
Now Gordon Brown has a reputation for having a short temper. He also has a reputation, justified or not, for doing things behind people’s backs – for example plotting against his predecessor, Tony Blair.
I suppose this isn’t surprising, given the fact that Gordon Brown is a Pisces. It’s a sign that can get very emotional, and it can find it very difficult to hide its feelings. At the same time, Pisceans can be two-faced. On the surface being polite, but behind the scenes being devious.
However on the day of the Full Moon the mask didn’t just slip, it fell off. This is so appropriate. At the time of the Full Moon you see everything, and the truth gets revealed.
Meanwhile, world stock markets have been rocky, following Standard & Poor’s downgrading of Greece’s national debt to ‘junk’. This happened soon after an opposition aspect between Saturn and Uranus, which took place on Monday or Tuesday, depending on your time zone.
Clearly this is the beginning of something very major, that will play out over the next year or two. It’s about the fragmenting of Europe, and while the European Union will probably survive, its currency, the Euro, probably won’t, at least in its current form.
As I’ve said in previous articles, Jupiter and Saturn form an opposition in 2010 and 2011, and this aspect is about breaking things up. The European currency is becoming increasingly untenable, and something has to give.
Yet in spite of the jitters on the markets, I stand by what I said last week. In the short-term, I don’t believe that there is going to be a major correction in the markets, and I believe that the bull run will continue until at least the end of July.

I wonder if what hit Gordon Brown is hitting Obama? In one way this seems unlikely. But people thought the same when the John Edwards story first broke
