Cancerian Prince William shouldn’t rush into marriage

by Archie Dunlop on April 15, 2010

I don’t find British royalty particularly interesting, but occasionally I need to comment on the subject.  So today I will look at the horoscope of Prince William, who is likely to become the British King sometime over the next few decades.

Prince William was born on July 21 1982, and he’s a Cancerian, by a whisker.  In fact, he was born just after a partial solar eclipse, and both his Sun and Moon are in Cancer.

In astrology the Moon is often connected with the mother, and it’s interesting that his mother, Diana, was also a Cancerian.

We then look at the horoscope of Kate Middleton, the woman who some claim Prince William will soon marry.

She is just over six months older than him, being born on January 9 1982.  I don’t have her time of birth, but she was born on the day of a Full Moon, with her Sun in Capricorn opposition her Moon in Cancer.

In a male horoscope the Moon often represents the kind of woman that a man will be attracted to.  Prince William has the Moon in Cancer, so many astrologers would say that one of the reasons he is attracted to Kate Middleton is because she has the Moon in this same sign.  And because his mother had the Sun in Cancer, the importance of this Moon in Cancer link-up must surely be intensified.

Now it’s not for me to say whether or not Prince William and Kate Middleton are suited to each other, especially as I don’t have her time of birth.  However because they were born relatively close together, their horoscopes share certain features.

For example, they both have Saturn in the same sign, in Libra.  Saturn has an orbital period of around twenty-nine and a half years, so just before their thirtieth birthdays they’ll experience their Saturn Returns, when Saturn returns to the place it was when they were born.

Kate Middleton won’t be finished with her Saturn Return until the end of October 2011.  Prince William will be finished with it a month or two earlier.  And arguably the Saturn Return’s wider influence will continue for another year.

The Saturn Return is a time when we realise who we are, a time when we start to understand our strengths and weaknesses.  Already, as I write, Saturn is on the Virgo-Libra cusp, and in late July of this year it moves into Libra.  The Saturn Return is starting, for both of them.

Matters are made more complicated by the fact that the couple both have Mars in Libra – in fact, their two Marses are very close to each other.  It’s a link that’s passionate and exciting, and I’m sure that Prince William has many of the features of Kate Middleton’s ideal man, regardless of his royal status.

However when two people have their Marses so close together, there is a potential for argument and conflict.  And very soon, in October, Saturn will be crossing the Mars degree in both of their horoscopes.

To conclude, Saturn’s transit through Libra, which starts in late July, and finishes in October 2012, could affect Prince William and Kate Middleton in a big way – both individually and as a couple.

Right now they don’t see the whole picture, and if I was advising them astrologically, I would recommend that they don’t get married until 2013.  Assuming that’s what they want.

So wrong. He was born on June 21, 1982 (my 16th Birthday — so I remember it.) He is a Gemini.

Amy, thanks for the comment. The Sun moved from Gemini to Cancer on June 21 1982, at 6.23 pm. Prince William was born at 9.03 pm.
