The news has come in that the Polish President, Lech Kaczyński, has been killed in a plane crash. According to the latest reports 96 people were killed, including the head of the Polish army and the governor of the Polish central bank.
The crash happened at 10.56 am, local time, in Smolensk, Russia. Apparently the plane was trying to land in thick fog, and at the fourth attempt the accident happened.
The reason Lech Kaczyński was going to Smolensk was to commemorate the victims of the Katyn Forest massacre, which happened in 1940. In this massacre over twenty thousand members of the Polish elite were killed by the Soviets.
So it’s kind of ironic that in commemorating the deaths of an earlier elite, members of the current elite lost their lives.
The horoscope for the accident is pretty straightforward. The Moon was exactly on the Midheaven, and both these points were exactly 180 degrees from the Mars-Saturn midpoint.
The exactitude was stunning:
The Moon: 2 degrees 33 Pisces
Midheaven: 2 degrees 29 Pisces
Mars/Saturn Midpoint: 2 degrees 31 Virgo
As I keep saying in my articles, the pairing of Mars and Saturn is connected with death. The Midheaven is a fast-moving point, that travels approximately a degree every four minutes. It’s also connected with authority and government.
So the Moon represented the hour when the tragedy would happen, the Midheaven represented the minute – and is therefore the final trigger.
German astrologer Reinhold Ebertin said of the Midheaven on the Mars-Saturn midpoint:
Mourning and bereavement (death).
Or, quite literally, we can say ‘death (Mars-Saturn) of the President (Midheaven)’.
As to whether the plane crash was predictable, my immediate reaction is to say that the point of vulnerability was very brief. Possibly ten minutes at the most. It was therefore an event that was very difficult to predict.
Looking at Lech Kaczyński, he was a Gemini, born on June 18 1949. In fact he’s a real Gemini, because he had a twin brother, Jarosław.
On June 18 1949 the Sun and Uranus were making a wide conjunction, and people with Sun-Uranus aspects can attract tumultuous events. They can also be mavericks, trying to overturn the existing establishment. Most importantly, they can be accident-prone.
April was certainly a dangerous months for both the twins, because Saturn and Uranus were making an opposition, and this opposition was hitting their Sun-Uranus conjunctions. Though I wouldn’t have said that being killed, or having an accident, was inevitable. No, Lech Kaczyński should have just stayed at home and stayed out of trouble.

I have a Polish friend born June 13, 1949 and he died suddenly on April 6 with chest pains while driving visiting Sicily with his son. There was NO history of heart disease or chest pains prior. Interesting, that he interpreted for the Polish President, when visiting with Gov Arnold S. in Calif a year or so ago. My computer programs are down, so I can’t look up their charts, but there must be some relationships in their charts.
