Astrological forecast: April 5 to April 11

by Archie Dunlop on April 4, 2010

The week starts with a stressful aspect between Mercury and Mars.  It’s an irritating influence, and if we’re not careful there could be big arguments.

So it’s important that we choose our company carefully.  People who are obsessed about detail should be avoided, and if an argument does start, we should back off.

In this light, compromise is going to be important.  Otherwise we could get ourselves into a dangerous situation, where everyone is a loser.

If you’re a Gemini or a Virgo, then on Monday or Tuesday be careful.  You’ll be accident-prone, and one small mistake could be very costly.

And while all this is going on, the planet Pluto is coming to a standstill, in preparation for over five months of retrograde motion.  A transformation which seemed a certainly might be put on hold.  And perhaps some of us will be given a breathing space – we’ve now got the whole Summer to get ourselves together.  But we mustn’t be complacent!

However the week’s main event is probably Saturn moving from Libra to Virgo.

Over the next few months there’ll be major concern about detail, and because Virgo has a special association with health, there  could be renewed scrutiny of  Barack Obama’s healthcare bill.  There are probably details that have been missed out, and very soon the American people will have a clearer idea about the full implications of the program.

The Virgo-Libra intersection is also important because it’s a cardinal point – in other words, Saturn is crossing zero degrees Libra.

This reminds me of the Tarot card the Three of Swords, that has a particular connection with Saturn in Libra.  It’s ‘lacrimae mundi’, the tears of the world.  We’ll look at the world around us, and weep… not for ourselves, but for the pity of humanity.

If you’re interested, the Libra to Virgo crossing is on Wednesday, at 7.51 pm London Time – which is 2.51 pm in New York, 11.51 am in Los Angeles.

By the weekend the overall situation should be easier.  The Moon’s in Pisces, making favourable aspects to Mercury and Venus.  And on Sunday it makes a conjunction to Jupiter.

So if we’re partying on Saturday night, we’re likely to have a great time.  There could also be romantic possibilities, regardless of our star sign.
