Seeing as its the Easter weekend, it’s as good a time as any to consider the birth chart of Jesus Christ.
Traditionally he’s seen as being a Capricorn, on account of his December 25 birthday, but this is a symbolic birthday, that was probably linked with the Winter Solstice. Put another way, if you want to convert pagans to Christianity, it’s a good idea to take over their festivals, and tie them in with the life and death of Jesus Christ.
So if Jesus wasn’t a Capricorn, what was he?
A favourite candidate is Pisces.
The Fish has a special association with Christianity. In Greek ‘JESUS CHRIST SON OF GOD SAVIOUR’ is ‘Iesous Christos Theou Uios Soter’, and converted to just its initials gives ‘ICHTHUS’, which is the Greek for fish.
Also, the advent of Christianity coincided with the Age of Pisces, so it seems natural that one of the people most associated with this Age had Pisces as his star sign.
However there’s good reason to believe that Jesus might have been a Virgo and not a Pisces.
His mother was a virgin.
He had an excellent sense of detail – his knowledge of the Old Testament scriptures was outstanding and he made sure that his actions coincided with Old Testament prophecy.
Virgoans regard the body as being important, and Jesus described his body as being a temple, and this was elaborated on by Saint Paul (1 Corinthians 3, 16-17):
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
This is surely Virgo at its most exalted, regarding the body as something special and God-given, which needs to be looked after. When you smoke, or take recreational drugs, or eat junk food – or even have a tattoo or an unnecessary cosmetic operation – you’re not just defiling your body, you’re arguably committing a crime against God.
From a scientific point of view, the astronomer Percy Seymour has provided convincing evidence that Jesus was born in September – to be precise, on September 15 7 BC, at sunset. His argument can be found in a book published in the late 1990s, The Birth of Christ: Exploding the Myth. It’s rather involved, but he suggests that the Star of Bethlehem was a conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn, in the sign Pisces, which helped guide the Three Wise Men to the Holy Land.
According to the time Percy Seymour gives, the Moon is at zero degrees Cancer. However I would have thought it more likely that Jesus had the Moon in the previous sign, Gemini. If you read the Bible, he was clearly a great communicator, who could respond with lightening speed to the questions and criticisms of his detractors. Very Moon in Gemini!
However one has to ask if it’s really a good idea to look at the horoscope of Jesus. He was a man who at the very least was spiritually exalted, who was leaving the material world behind. And when someone reaches that stage, they have arguably transcended the limitations of their horoscope.

Anele,
I suppose Jesus must have had access to considerable educational resources. And of course the New Testament states that Joseph, Jesus’ father, was a descendant of the royal line, going back to King David and even Abraham.
Whether or not his birth was special is a matter for debate, though if you accept the Percy Seymour thesis, astrology actually provided supporting evidence for Jesus’ specialness.
