Saturn and Uranus line up for a long, hot Summer

by Archie Dunlop on March 30, 2010

Right now, what are astrologers talking about?  Well, I try to keep myself to myself, but I’ve got a pretty good idea what’s on their mind.  Saturn and Uranus.

Saturn is the planet of restriction and limitation, Uranus is the planet of revolution and freedom.  And when these two planets are in aspect there can be major aggravation.

Over the last couple of years Saturn and Uranus having been forming a tense, 180-degree aspect.  In other words, from the Earth’s point of view, they have been opposition each other.

All of us have been desperate to sort out our lives, but there have been a number of very big shocks.  So far, these shocks have been mainly economic.  The credit crunch, falling house prices, rising unemployment.

There have also been desperate attempts to resolve the situation.  Barack Obama was elected US President against the backdrop of this Saturn-Uranus opposition.  The US electorate thought they could make their lives better by overthrowing the establishment.

We’re now moving into the final, and most dramatic, phase of the Saturn-Uranus opposition.  Because of a phenomenon known as retrograde motion, we’re going to experience this opposition twice over the next few months.

On April 26 or 27 Saturn will be at 28 degrees and 46 minutes Virgo, Uranus will be in the opposite sign, at 28 degrees and 46 minutes Pisces.

And on July 26, when Saturn will be at zero degrees 25 Libra and Uranus will be at zero degrees 25 Aries.

Both these oppositions fall very close to the axis of zero degrees Aries and zero degrees Libra.  In astrology this is important.  The Aries point is connected to the world at large, and because the Saturn-Uranus aspect is on the Aries point, its manifestation will be very strong.

Yet we shouldn’t focus too much on specific dates – we can just say that for most of the Summer, from early April through to early August, there will be a powerful Saturn-Uranus effect.

As I discussed in the article I wrote yesterday, about the Moscow subway bombings, we’re likely to see heightened terrorist activity over the next few months.  There’ll also be a feeling that something has to give – and as result, there could be a lot of unrest, the world over – for example, demonstrations and strikes.

So if governments are papering over the cracks, and pretending everything is fine when actually it’s not, there could be real problems.  In this light the Islamic regime in Iran could be particularly affected by the Saturn-Uranus opposition, and events over the Summer could severely weaken the government.

In the United States, the Saturn-Uranus opposition could intensify the debate about healthcare.  Already the opponents of Obama’s healthcare bill are feeling that the government is usurping their fundamental freedoms, and they won’t let the matter drop any time soon.

Also, at around the same time as the Moscow bombings, there were arrests in Michigan, of members of a Christian, anti-government militia, that was planning to kill a law enforcement officer and then attack his funeral, with the hope that it triggers some kind of uprising.

It’s therefore possible that the Saturn-Uranus opposition stirs up the lunatic fringe on the religious right, who believe, for example, that violence against the government is the only way of stopping the new world order and its Antichrist.

This emphasises the point that arguably the biggest threats to America’s national security come from within rather than without.  Timothy McVeigh, the infamous Oklahoma bomber, wasn’t born in the Middle East or the Peshawar Valley, he was born in New York State and he had a white, Christian background.

This is a description of “peaceful” London, appeared on the Evening Standard on Mar 30.

The wording of the 3rd paragraph is quite spot-on.

It’s actually the 6th paragraph of the article e-version.
