The Astrology of US Healthcare Reform

by Archie Dunlop on March 23, 2010

So the House of Representatives has given Barack Obama what he wanted.  A comprehensive reform of healthcare, which will mean that most Americans will end up being insured.

In this article I don’t want to get involved in the arguments about whether or not it’s a good thing.  Though as a European, who is used to being protected by the British National Health Service, the reforms seem both sensible and ethical.

As far as Barack Obama is concerned, he has Mars, the planet of aggression, in Virgo.  The sign Virgo is associated with health, so it’s not surprising that he has made health one of the key battlegrounds of his Presidency.

His victory was helped by the fact that the vote happened in late March rather than earlier.  From December 20 2009 through to March 10 2010 the planet Mars was moving backwards, and during this time those that initiated conflicts were likely to lose.  By late March the prospects for victory were much improved.

From the perspective of Hindu astrology, from March 20 through to April 7 he was experiencing a short but fortunate phase, ruled by Jupiter.  This helped give him the edge.

However when we take a step back, and look at the broad astrological picture, it seems likely that the battle might be won, but the war is far from over.

This is indicated by the horoscope for the passing of the bill.  The Sun was making an exact oppostion aspect to Saturn.  This tells us about the incredible conflict that underlies the debate.  Views are polarised, and they’ll remain that way.

We also have to remember that this is not a time for ideallism.  Very soon Jupiter and Saturn will be opposition each other.  Hopes will be dashed, and those trying to turn the clock back will be surprisingly successful.

In other words the healthcare reforms proposed by the Obama regime run counter to the spirit of the times, and the forces of reaction will have a good chance of tearing them apart.

Especially as it will become clear that Barack Obama has lost his magic, and by 2012 he’ll be badly behind in the polls, with a Republican victory in that year’s Presidential election seeming inevitable.  Which would probably mean that the healthcare reforms would be reversed.

Nonetheless Obama can save the day, by winning a second term.  If he stands for this second term he’ll win, against the odds.  However in 2012 he undergoes a big astrological change, and there’s a real chance that he’ll decide that he’s had enough of politics.  Which would be a shame, because his second term as President would be so much better than his first.

Hello—
yes, passage of this bill created mostly aggravating circumstances since this bill includes all kinds of measures that have nothing whatever to do with healthcare. These measures were included as a means to satisfy various constituents’ needs and/or lobbyist desires as a means to win their vote for the 2700 page bill that went unread by a vast majority in House and Senate. There are still lots of issues that will have to play out–as you have indicated in your article.
Thanks for the articles!

Susan has illustrated the ignorance attached to this issue. Every bill has attached to it many things meant to satisfy constituents.

This bill means that an insurance company cannot drop someone once they are sick and need health care the most. This bill means that you cannot be refused insurance because of a “pre-existing condition.”

These are just two of many important provisions of health care reform that has been long overdue.

Just remember that this was a Neptunian event. People think that the bill is delivering health care. It’s not. It’s delivering so-called health insurance. But, will the doctors and hospitals be there to provide the health care? Probably not. The reimbursement for doctors under Medicare is pushing doctors out of busines now in the US and hospitals in NY are going out of business. Foreigners think that this bill will deliver health care, like the british health system: it will not: it creates a health insurance plan that is economically unrealistic. It criminalizes people for not having health insurance. It pushes hugh burdens on the individual states which they will not be able to financially handle. The bill provides illusionary health insurance and will not go into effect until 2014 to protect the politicians. It’s an illusion. You’ll see.
