Astrological forecast: March 22 to March 28

by Archie Dunlop on March 22, 2010

When I contemplate the week ahead, I just want to go to sleep.  That might be because right now I’m in Slovakia, where the Spring Equinox seems to wipe everyone out.  They call it ‘jarná únava’, which means ’spring tiredness’.  I never suffered from this in England, and it probably has something to do with Slovakia’s continental climate, that intensifies the physiological effects of the seasonal change.

Still, astrology must be playing its part.  The Sun, having just entered Aries, is making a stressful, 180-degree aspect to Saturn in Libra.  This aspect is exact just as the new week is starting, and on Monday and Tuesday some of us might have less energy than usual.  Especially if we live more than a hundred miles from a coastline.

I can’t help noticing, as I write this article, that the healthcare debate in Washington is in full swing.  The vote still hasn’t been taken, though early indications suggest that the Democrats will have the edge.

I was actually asked which way I thought the debate would go, and I didn’t answer.  I just didn’t feel that I had enough astrological evidence to commit myself one way or another.

However the fact that the debate is taking place at exactly the same time as a Sun-Saturn opposition suggests to me that whatever the result, it’ll be the beginning of some major aggravation, as two groups of people, who can’t compromise, battle it out.  And if the Democrats win, Barack Obama should realise that the forces of conservatism are slowly but surely moving into the ascendancy.

Put another way, the vote in the House of Representatives is probably not quite as momentous as some people are claiming, which is perhaps why I couldn’t get a clear astrological answer about which way it would go.

But I’m digressing.  There are two astrological events to consider this week.  I have already mentioned the Sun-Saturn opposition, which takes place at 0.37 am GMT on Monday 22, which is 8.37 pm on Sunday 21 in Washington DC.  The other aspect is a 90-degree aspect between the Sun and Pluto, on Thursday evening in Amercia, Friday morning in Europe.  These two aspects are closely connected – Saturn and Pluto are themselves close to a 90-degree aspect, and the Sun is acting as a trigger.

Under these circumstances, I would see this week as being quite tense, and a lot of people are going to be pushing themselves to the limit.

And as I want to go to sleep, I’ll let someone else describe the situation… where the Sun is aspecting the Saturn-Pluto midpoint.

So I’ll quote from German astrologer Reinhold Ebertin, who wrote the following:

Physical toil and over-exertion, sparing no pains in one’s work. – Renunciation, privation, a physical separation.

Oh, before I sign off, I see that the Israeli government have said that they won’t back down over the Jerusalem settlements.  You’d expect this kind of thing with the Sun-Saturn opposition.  No-one’s going to back down, no-one’s going to give up.

Have a nice week and if you get yourself into an argument, please, please try to compromise.
