Astrological forecast: March 15 to March 21

by Archie Dunlop on March 14, 2010

The week starts on a pretty crazy note.  There’s a New Moon on Monday March 15, which falls in exactly the same place as a Mercury-Uranus conjunction.  So as the week unfolds there’ll be plenty of excitement.  Many things to talk about, and weird and wonderful news to absorb and understand.

Our computers and cell phones could play a central role in our lives, and our contacts with the world could be largely electronic.  Which is fine, provided we don’t ignore the human dimension.

I say this because communications with other people could work on many levels, and what people say isn’t the whole story.  There are hidden messages, with a content that’s very surprising.

Yet when we hear something that’s outrageous, we mustn’t over-react.  Because words on their own are pretty meaningless.

If you’re a Pisces, the first few days of the week could be very significant.  You might have a sudden realisation, that pushes you in a brand new direction.

If you’re a Gemini or a Virgo, the Mercury-Uranus conjunction could hit you in a big way, because Mercury is your ruling planet.  You’ll want to do something out of the ordinary, which leaves a lasting impression.

On Wednesday March 17 there’s a conjunction between the Sun and Uranus.  This conjunction could create a certain amount of instability, and matters won’t be helped by other people’s irrational stubbornness.

Also on Wednesday Mercury enters Aries.  Strong opinions start seeing the light of day, for better or for worse.

Moving into the last half of the week, and Mercury is aspecting both Saturn and Pluto.  This is potentially quite serious.  Saturn and Pluto are slow-moving planets, that are making a 90-degree contact to each other.  This contact is a theme of the times that we’re living in, and it isn’t a one-day or even a one-week wonder.

Mercury, which is a fast-moving planet, is acting as a trigger.  So in the last half of the week, from Thursday through to Saturday, there could be global dramas, both natural and man-made.

Over the week-end it’s the Spring Equinox, when the Sun crosses the equator, when the hours of day and night are equal.  As the seasons start changing it’s a time for reflection and renewal, and I think over the next few days I’ll write an article about the Spring Equinox, explaining what it is and why it’s important.  I might even talk about magic, if you’re into that kind of thing!
