Geert Wilders: A Virgoan Dutchman who has a problem with Islam

by Archie Dunlop on March 5, 2010

Hardly anyone visits my website on a Saturday, so I’ll indulge myself with a quick foray into Dutch politics.

As anyone who has been to Holland will know, it’s an easy-going country, that appears to be very liberal.  The laws on soft drugs and prostitution are lax, and different lifestyles are widely tolerated.  There are also thriving immigrant communities, that have become an integral part of the nation’s fabric.

However it does seem that things are changing, and there appears to be a popular backlash against years of liberal policy.  In the case of immigrant communities, the focus is very much on Islam.  There seems to be a view that many Muslims are refusing to conform, and are trying to impose their value systems onto wider society.

This perceived problem hit home in 2004, when Dutch film-maker Theo van Gogh was murdered by a Muslim, after making a film that attacked Islam’s attitude to women.

Since 2004 one of the Holland’s most vocal critics of Islam has been politician Geert Wilders.  His political party, the Party for Freedom, has been growing in support, and there is a real chance that it could become part of a future Dutch government.

The Party for Freedom wants curbs on immigration, and seems to be opposed to multiculturalism – immigrants, if they want to stay in the country, should accept the predominance of European, Christian culture.

So given the political rise of Geert Wilders, it seems a good idea to look at his horoscope.

Geert Wilder was born on September 6 1963, which makes him a Virgo.  His specialisation before entering politics was health insurance, which is perfect for this star sign – after all Virgo is the most health-orientated of the twelve signs, and it’s also very good at handling detail, the kind of detail that’s probably connected with insurance schemes.

However the dynamo of Geert Wilder’s horoscope is a conjunction between the Moon and Jupiter, in Aries.  The sign Aries is very impulsive, and unlike most Virgos, he’s very open about his opinions.  Indeed so open that he ended up in court – he is currently being prosecuted for inciting racial hatred.

Furthermore, he has been travelling to different countries, showing a film he made, which explores the links between Islam, terrorism and the Koran.

As to Geert Wilder’s future, I haven’t got his time of birth, so I’m not going to make speculations that are based on his birth chart. Yet over the next couple of years Jupiter and Saturn are making an 180-degree aspect, and the energy of this aspect should work in his favour.

This Jupiter-Saturn opposition is about ‘them and us’ – differences rather than similarities, splitting rather than joining.  I therefore believe that right-wing parties such as the Party for Freedom will continue to do well, and it won’t be until 2012 and afterwards that they start losing support.
