The Alabama Shootings: Is Amy Bishop an Aquarius or a Taurus or something else?

by Archie Dunlop on February 22, 2010

When I heard the news about the Alabama shootings, I waited before writing anything about Amy Bishop’s horoscope.  There were conflicting views about when she was born, and it would obviously take a bit of time before a concrete birth date emerged.

However it wasn’t long before we had access to her details, thanks to the nice, helpful people who arrested her.  If one goes to the website of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, and enters Amy Bishop’s Inmate ID Number, which is 0064007, her birth date is given as ‘2/4/1968′.  As that’s the American date format, we can surely say that she was born on February 4 1968.

And let’s not forget, by the way, that Amy Bishop has been arrested on a capital charge – she potentially could be executed, if she’s found guilty.

When you arrest someone for murder, you presumably make strenuous efforts to get their birth date right, and you don’t take their word for it.  I therefore felt that I could confidently base my astrological assessment on a horoscope set for February 4 1968.

However an astrologer called Jessica commented on my article, saying that there is evidence that she was actually born on April 24 1965.

The evidence she gave was good – it came from  Harvard University, where Amy Bishop did her doctorate.  The Harvard site not only gave her birth date, but also gave a run-down of her academic history, in particular saying that she graduated from Northeastern University in 1988.

Now, if she was born in 1968, twenty years old is rather young to graduate.  A 1965 birth would have made her twenty-three, which is more reasonable.

So, I think I’d better give some consideration to the alternative, Taurean birth date.

In the astrological jargon Taurus, like Aquarius, is a ‘fixed’ sign.  The fixed signs can be very stubborn, and in a crisis they can be completely inflexible – they often snap rather than bend.

Indeed it seems that the catalyst for Amy Bishop’s actions, assuming she’s guilty, is that she was turned down for tenure.  Apparently in American academia, getting this tenure is very important, because it gives you job security as well as enhanced status.

All things being equal, Taurus is probably a more dangerous sign than Aquarius, and once Taureans get something into their head they often keep going until the deed is done.

For example, Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma bomber, was a Taurus.  He was born on April 23 1968.  Something made him annoyed, and he didn’t just talk about blowing up a government building, he actually did it.

Andreas Baader, the infamous German terrorist, who co-founded the Baader-Meinhof Gang, was also a Taurus, born on May 6 1943.

Guy Fawkes was another Taurean terrorist – in 1605 he came within a whisker of blowing up the English Houses of Parliament, in the ‘Gunpowder Plot’.

At the same time a lot of brutal dictators were Taureans – for example Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein and Pol Pot.

What seems to characterise these Taureans is a ruthless determination, a belief that the ends always justify the means.

There is also Taurus’ anger, which can be a serious problem.  This anger can be very vindictive, and can be looking for revenge, for some real or imagined slight.

Going back to Amy Bishop, and if she was born on April 24 1965 she would have a conjunction between Mars, Uranus and Pluto in the sign Virgo, which is making an 180-degree aspect to Saturn in Pisces.  This configuration is very tense, and perhaps explosive.

So both the 1965 Taurean chart, and the 1968 Aquarian one, have an explosive signature.

I can illustrate this with reference to Reinhold Ebertin’s The Combination of Stellar Influences.

As I said in my early article, on February 4 1968 Uranus was on the Mars-Saturn midpoint, and he said the following about this combination:

…the ability to give as well as take under provocation, the inclination to apply brute force… a sudden accident, separation or case of death.

On April 24 1965 Uranus was also on the Mars-Saturn midpoint, through it was a couple of degrees off – some astrologers would argue that that’s not exact enough.  However Uranus was definitely on the Mars-Pluto midpoint, and here’s how Ebertin described it:

Cruelty, violence, brutality. – Sudden disasters or calamities of great consequence.

QED.

Of course only one of the two horoscopes I have discussed belongs to Amy Bishop – unless both birth dates are wrong!

You state that Andreas Baader was born March 6. That would make him a Pisces. A small note of correction in an otherwise informative article.

David, thanks!

He was of course born on May 6.
