Astrology, the Ukraine and reincarnation

by Archie Dunlop on February 6, 2010

The Ukraine is a country that we should all be taking a close look at.  It used to be part of the Soviet Union, and it became functionally independent after the fall of Communism.

Nonetheless Russia’s shadow is hard to avoid.  Not only do the countries have a long border, and a long shared history, but in the eastern Ukraine there is a substantial Russian-speaking population.

Over the next year or two, when Jupiter and Saturn are making an opposition to each other, there will probably be high levels of instability, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the country splits into two parts, with the eastern areas becoming part of Russia.

More immediately, the Ukraine is having the second round of a presidential election.  The two remaining candidates are Yulia Tymoshenko and Viktor Yanukovych.

Yulia Tymoshenko has the Western part of the Ukraine as her power base and she wants to move the country away from Russia and towards the European Union and NATO.

Viktor Yanukovych, by contast, has a greater appreciation for the Ukraine’s ties with Russia, and he wants Russian to be made one of the country’s official languages.

I won’t dwell any further on the political complexities of the situation.  Instead I’m going to focus on the horoscope of Yulia Tymoshenko and the theory that she’s the reincarnation of Argentine politician Eva Peron.

Yulia Tymoshenko is a Sagittarian, who was born on November 27 1960.  She is very charismatic, and she’s famous for wearing her blonde hair in braids.

As a Sagittarian, she’s got big plans and a larger than live personality.  At the same time she’s not afraid of telling people how she feels.

However I have a feeling that the usual Sagittarian character traits only describe her in a superficial sense.  Remembering that in a female horoscope the Moon tends to be more important than the Sun.

Unfortunately I can’t say for sure what sign her Moon is in – it could be in Pisces or Aries, depending on what time she was born.  So instead I’ll look at Venus, that other female planet.

She has Venus in Capricorn.  This placement tends to be very ambitious, and the way she styles herself is all part of the plan.  And if you look at her career, both in terms of business and politics, she’s very determined to get to the top.

Her Venus is conjunct Saturn and opposition Mars.  This emphasises the point that her charisma is carefully managed, and she’ll be giving priority to her own agenda.

There’s then the question of Yulia Tymoshenko being the reincarnation of Eva Peron, that has been give serious consideration in some quarters.

It really is difficult to say for sure whether one person is a reincarnation of another, though clearly there are similarities between the two women.  Neither came from a wealthy background, they made associations with powerful men and they both had or have definite charisma.

As far as the horoscopes are concerned, there is one key connection that I find interesting.

Eva Peron had the North Node of the Dragon at around four degree Sagittarius.  The North Node of the Dragon is a point in space, where the northward path of the Moon cuts the apparent path of the Sun.  In astrology it’s the place that we’re going to, and some astrologers see a connection between the North Node and future incarnations.

With the North Node in Sagittarius, Eva Peron was seeking, on a spiritual level, to expand her horizons and to break free from the limitations of her humble background.  She might have died in 1952, but her quest no doubt continued.

Yulia Tymoshenko has her Sun in Sagittarius, at around five degrees of the sign.  In other words her Sun is only about a degree away from Eva Peron’s North Node.

So arguably Yulia Tymoshenko is the kind of person Eva Peron would aspire to be.

Yulia Tymoshenko is politically more successful than Eva Peron, in the sense that at the time of writing she is Prime Minister of a large European country and is aiming to be its president.

Eva Peron, by contrast, was fundamentally a First Lady, who owed her political career to her husband Juan Peron, the Argentine President.

We might therefore be seeing some Karmic evolution, as a developing soul moves from one political climate to another.

But I don’t think anyone can be sure, not even Yulia Tymoshenko herself.
