In England the big new is about footballer John Terry. He plays for Chelsea, and he is also captain of the England football team, which is now gearing up for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The story has got out that John Terry, who is married with two children, had been having an affair with the ex-girlfriend of another footballer.
John Terry’s position as captain of England has been called into question and his reputation and general standing have taken a hit.
John Terry was born on December 7 1980, which makes him a Sagittarius. I’m certainly not going to claim that Sagittarians are more likely to have affairs than other signs. However many Sagittarians have a great need for excitement and variety, and this might be reflected in John Terry’s love life.
If we take a close look at his Sun in Sagittarius, we notice that it’s close to the midpoint of Venus and Mars. In astrology Venus and Mars are the sexual pair, and at times he might feel that one relationship isn’t enough, that he needs other outlets.
As far as timing is concerned, it seems to be very connected to John Terry’s Saturn Return.
The planet Saturn takes just over twenty-nine years to go round the Sun, and this means that at the age of about twenty-nine Saturn returns to the place it was when we were born.
Saturn is the planet of responsibility, and during the Saturn Return we often have a mini-crisis. We have to deal with the consequences of our actions, and it’s a time when many of us have to stare reality in the face.
John Terry has his Saturn in the ninth degree of Libra. On October 29 last year Saturn went into this sign, and John Terry’s Saturn Return started in earnest. If he had visited me for a consultation, I would have advised him to be very careful over the following year, to make sure that his house was in order, in all areas.
If he had told me about his affair, and he could have done, because I always respect client confidentiality, I would have repeated what I said in a previous article, about Saturn’s movement into Libra:
We’re reminded that we’re social animals, that on our own we’re nothing. We must respect our fellow human beings, and if we’re disloyal, or we betray anyone’s trust, we’re likely to be punished.
On January 13 Saturn came to a standstill, in the fifth degree of Libra, and in late January the story came out.
Nonetheless John Terry tried to keep a lid on it. He got a court injunction, preventing the media from discussing his infidelity. However this injunction was soon lifted, and the public got to hear the details of the story.
This emphasises that when Saturn wants to bring you down to earth, there’s nothing you can do but accept your fate. And hopefully in the process learn some valuable lessons.
