Astrological events happen at a precise time. For example on Sunday January 31, at 9.27 pm GMT, Saturn and Pluto were making an exact, 90-degree aspect. This is not a one-day wonder. After all, Saturn and Pluto are slow-moving planets, and their aspect describes a period of time, lasting weeks and probably months.
This is illustrated by the Haiti earthquake. As I explained in a previous article, the Saturn-Pluto aspect triggered a Mars-Saturn aspect in Haiti’s horoscope, set for its independence on January 4 1804.
Still, the Saturn-Pluto aspect is now exact, and its power is theoretically at maximum strength. So in the first days of February we might feel that we’re under enormous pressure, especially in our career. There’ll be a sense of urgency, and a belief that if we don’t push ourselves to the limit we might lose out. Aquarians and Capricorns might be particularly vulnerable to the Saturn-Pluto influence, and they should make sure that they don’t overdo it.
The pressure is likely to be highest on Tuesday February 2, when the Moon conjuncts Saturn, and makes a 90-degree aspect to Pluto.
At the end of last week, on Saturday January 30, there was a Full Moon, that was close to Mars. The influence of this Full Moon will persist, throughout the first half of February. It’s a time when we could fall out with people, and arguments could erupt, out of nowhere.
This applies not just to individuals, but also to nations. Tension levels on the international scene will be higher than average.
On Friday Feburary 5 Jupiter makes an 150-degree aspect to Saturn. Jupiter is the planet of growth and optimism, Saturn is the planet of restriction and pessimism.
This aspect is important, but possibly only in retrospect. It represents the last hurrah of the optimists, when it will seem that things really are getting better, especially on an economic level. And over the next few months I do believe that there’ll be improvements across the board.
Finally, I should point out that we’re now in the last fortnight of the Chinese Year of the Ox, which ends at the next New Moon, on February 13 or 14.
I’m not an expert on Chinese astrology, but I was told that the period just before the start of the New Year is not very fortunate, and is a bad time for beginning new projects. So if there’s some important initiative that you’re planning maybe you should wait until February 14, when the Year of the Tiger gets under way.
