Shoes aren’t my strong point, and I’m always on the brink of going barefoot. Recent weather conditions have exacerbated the problem, and I’m now in urgent need of new footwear.
I suppose I should put a Paypal button on my website, inviting visitors to contribute to my next pair of shoes, but if you’ve got size 12 feet (size 47 in Europe, size 13 in the US) having money isn’t always enough.
Still, I hopped on the tram, and travelled into the centre of Bratislava. It’s a capital city, and there shouldn’t have been a problem… but size 46 was the limit, and I’ve got to hope my disintegrating trainers last the weekend.
Which brings me on to the subject of Jupiter. At the beginning of the week this planet entered Pisces, and in astrology Pisces has a special association with the feet.
This is because Pisces is the last sign of the Zodiac, and by and large body parts go from the top downwards. Aries is the first sign, and it rules the head. Taurus is the second sign, and it rules the neck. Capricorn is the tenth sign, and it rules the knees, Aquarius the eleventh, the shins, and finally Pisces, the feet.
Jupiter is the planet of expansion, and while it moves through Pisces, between now and early June, we should think very hard about our feet. Our feet should be loved and respected, and buying a new pair of shoes might be a good way of honouring Jupiter’s energy. I suppose we can’t reach out for new horizons unless our feet are properly clad.
From a business point of view, Jupiter’s movement through Pisces might be very good for chiropodists, and in spite of the recession, shoe manufacturers could benefit.
Though if you’re fashion-conscious be careful. You could blow a small fortune on your shoe collection.
