Cancerian Amanda Knox found guilty of murder

by Archie Dunlop on December 5, 2009

Let’s get one thing straight. Just because someone is found guilty of a crime doesn’t mean that they committed the crime. In the United Kingdom we have examples of miscarriages of justice, and discussions about the death penalty often come to a halt when they’re brought up. In the early 1960s at least one person was executed in the UK for a crime they didn’t commit.

Having said that, if you are going to be convicted of murder, fairly or not, there are worse places for it to happen than Italy. Amanda Knox is not facing the death penalty, as she might in certain US states, and if her appeals fail she’ll probably be out of prison before she’s forty.

As far as the astrology is concerned, Amanda Knox was born on July 9 1987, which makes her a Cancerian. Her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito is an Aries, born on March 26 1984. As to the victim, Meredith Kercher, she was born in February 1986. This means that I don’t know whether her star sign was Aquarius or Pisces.

Like it or not, Amanda Knox was the star of the case. Attractive, intelligent and quirky, if she’d been acquitted she would have made a fortune on the media circuit. And the fact that she has her Sun in Cancer doesn’t surprise me at all, though this might need some explanation.

One view of Cancerians is that they’re very traditional, that they appreciate the home comforts, that they’re also very loyal.

However in my experience Cancerian women can be a real nightmare. When they’re partying, or they’ve taken too much alcohol or drugs, they give the impression of being possessed. Mad extroverts who push themselves to the limit!

I don’t know why this is. It’s possibly connected with their sensitivity – perhaps they mould themselves into their environment, and in the process caution gets thrown to the wind. Or else they’re unusually vulnerable to intoxicants.

Looking at the murder, one of the claims of the prosecution was that Amanda Knox was jealous of Meredith Kercher. This is absolutely consistent with a Cancer star sign. All things being equal, Cancer is the most jealous and vindictive of the twelve signs, and the strength of their feelings isn’t to be taken lightly.

A Cancerian can become completely obsessed with their enemies and rivals, and under certain circumstances is quite capable of causing them harm. Especially if they’ve been taking alcohol or drugs.

When you’re looking at a female horoscope, it’s always important to look at the Moon, and Amanda Knox probably had her Moon in Sagittarius, conjunct Uranus – unless she was born in the late afternoon or evening, in which case her Moon would be in Capricorn.

People with the Moon in Sagittarius tend to be very honest, and they say what they feel. When this Moon is conjunct Uranus, the planet of earthquakes, we get the picture of a vibrant person, who expresses herself very powerfully. Though sometimes, if indeed she had the Moon in Sagittarius, she mightn’t know when to stop.

On a different note, Amanda Knox’s sex appeal is clearly indicated in her horoscope. She has her Sun in Cancer within a degree or two of her Venus-Mars midpoint.

In astrology Venus and Mars are respectively the planets of female and male sexuality, and one can see how Raffaele Sollecito might have found her irresistibly attractive. Perhaps, if the prosecution is to be believed, so attractive that he ended up doing something that he’ll regret for the rest of his life.

Having said that, I’m not convinced that the chemistry between Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito is very strong. It would be clearer if I had birth times for the two, but on the face of it I can’t see anything that’s particularly compulsive. So if the murder had never happened, I think they would have soon enough gone their separate ways.

Unfortunately, circumstances brought them together, at the wrong time. A time that had death written all over it.

On the evening of November 1 2007, when Meredith Kercher was killed, there was a stressful, 90-degree aspect between the Sun and the Moon. And both these bodies were aspecting the Mars-Saturn midpoint. This is a big deal, because in astrology Mars and Saturn, as a pair, are intimately connected with death.

This line-up wouldn’t have lasted long, and it was tragic that Meredith Kercher was so vulnerably placed that evening. Any other evening, when the Sun and Moon weren’t both on the Mars-Saturn midpoint, and I think nothing much would have happened.

Matters weren’t helped by the fact that both Meredith Kercher and Raffaele Sollecito had some form of Mars-Saturn conjunction in their horoscopes. So both the victim and one of the people convicted of her murder were picking up on the Mars-Saturn energy that was so strong on November 1.

It’s of course difficult to say much about a person when you only know their month of birth. Yet the Mars-Saturn conjunction in Meredith Kercher’s horoscope is important. She probably had these two planets in Sagittarius, thought if she was born at the beginning of February Mars would have been in late Scorpio.

Sagittarius is the planet of travel, and with this Mars-Saturn conjunction she should have avoided travelling – because it’s a possible signature for dying abroad.

From reading the newspapers, there’s been a lot of focus on the supposedly difficult relationship between Amanda Knox and Meredith Kercher. And perhaps with good reason. After all, Amanda Knox, as a Cancerian, almost certainly has powerful feelings, and if she was guilty as charged these feelings could have played an important role.

Yet given the importance of Mars and Saturn, I feel that the key relationship might have been between Meredith Kercher and Raffaele Sollecito. They were Mars-Saturn people who were perhaps tragically brought together on a Mars-Saturn evening. Was it destiny or was it an accident?

Finally, I should re-iterate that we cannot be a hundred percent sure that Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito killed Meredith Kercher. Doubts about the verdict have been raised, especially in the US, and there will be an appeal.

The evidence against Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito is overwhelming.

Amanda Knox’s DNA was found on:

1. On the double DNA knife and a number of independent forensic experts – Dr. Patrizia Stefanoni, Dr. Renato Biondo and Professor Francesca Torricelli – categorically stated that Meredith’s DNA was on the blade.

2. Mixed with Meredith’s blood on the ledge of the basin.

3. Mixed with Meredith’s blood on the bidet.

4. Mixed with Meredith blood on a box of Q Tip cotton swabs.

5. Mixed with Meredith’s blood in the hallway.

6. Mixed with Meredith’s blood on the floor of Filomena’s room, where the break-in was staged.

7. On Meredith’s bra according to Dr. Stefanoni AND Raffaele Sollecito’s forensic expert, Professor Vinci.

Amanda Knox’s footprints were found set in Meredith’s blood in two places in the hallway of the new wing of the cottage. One print was exiting her own room, and one print was outside Meredith’s room, facing into the room. These bloody footprints were only revealed under luminol.

A woman’s bloody shoeprint, which matched Amanda Knox’s foot size, was found on a pillow under Meredith’s body. The bloody shoeprint was incompatible with Meredith’s shoe size.

Two independent imprint experts categorically excluded the possibility that the bloody footprint on the blue bathmat could belong to Rudy Guede. Lorenzo Rinaldi stated:

“You can see clearly that this bloody footprint on the rug does not belong to Mr. Guede, but you can see that it is compatible with Sollecito.”

The other imprint expert print expert testified that the bloody footprint on the blue bathmat matched the precise characteristics of Sollecito’s foot.

An abundant amount of Raffaele Sollecito’s DNA was found on Meredith’s bra clasp. Sollecito must have applied considerable pressure to the clasp in order to have left so much DNA. The hooks on the clasp were damaged which confirms that Sollecito had gripped them tightly.

According to Judge Massei and Judge Cristiani, Rudy Guede’s visible bloody footprints lead straight out of Meredith’s room and out of the house. He didn’t lock Meredith’s door, remove his trainers, go into Filomena’s room or the bathroom that Meredith and Knox shared.

He didn’t scale the vertical wall outside Filomena’s room or gain access through the window. The break-in was clearly staged. This indicates that somebody who lived at the cottage was trying to deflect attention away from themselves and give the impression that a stranger had broken in and killed Meredith.

Guede had no reason to stage the break-in and there was no physical evidence that he went into Filomena’s room or the bathroom. The scientific police found a mixture of Knox’s DNA and Meredith’s blood on the floor in Filomena’s room. They also found irrefutable proof that Knox and Sollecito had tracked Meredith’s blood into the bathroom.

The murder dynamic implicates Knox and Sollecito.

Barbie Nadeau wrote the following:

“Countless forensic experts, including those who performed the autopsies on Kercher’s body, have testified that more than one person killed her based on the size and location of her injuries and the fact that she didn’t fight back—no hair or skin was found under her fingernails.”

Judge Paolo Micheli claimed that Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito knew precise details about Meredith’s murder that they could have only known if they were present when she was killed.

Amanda Knox voluntarily admitted that she involved in Meredith’s murder in her handwritten note to the police on 6 November 2007. She stated on at least four separate occasions that she was at the cottage when Meredith was killed. She also claimed that Sollecito was at the cottage.

Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito both gave multiple conflicting alibis and lied repeatedly. Their lies were exposed by telephone and computer records, and by CCTV footage. Neither Knox nor Sollecito have credible alibis for the night of the murder despite three attempt each. At the trial, Sollecito refused to corroborate Knox’s alibi that she was at his apartment.

Legal expert Stefano Maffei stated the following:

“There were 19 judges who looked at the evidence over the course of two years, faced with decisions on pre-trial detention, review of such detention, committal to trial, judgment on criminal responsibility. They all agreed, at all times, that the evidence was overwhelming.”

Meredith was born in December, I think around the 25th or 28th, so your reading of the situation is way off.

What’s with all the venom toward Cancer women? I know many cool Cancer women. Your painting them in a bad light in such a generalized way speaks poorly of your ability to provide clear readings. The totality of a person’s chart matters a great deal. After 30 years of experience, one thing I have clearly learned is that generalizations about any sign are fruitless.

I suppose Brittany Spears is truly a Cancer because those years when she was using clearly indicate that she morphed into another sun sign, thus her bad reaction to drugs and alcohol. Could it be that Lindsay Lohan is an addict? I suppose Robert Downey, Jr.’s drug past indicates that all Aries react poorly to drugs…?

Your generalizations make astrology look bad. You should respect all signs and planets if you want to be taken seriously.

Astrorabbit,

I think I’ll write a whole article replying to your post, because it raises a number of issues.

However I should say that when I wrote the article, Meredith Kercher’s birth data was unobtainable, and every source I could find said that she was born in February, with no date attached. More information has now became available, and according to Wikipedia she was born on December 28 1985, as you suggest.
