It’s only at the end of the month, from December 25 onwards, that you’re able to take a realistic attitude to money. So if you’ve overspent earlier on, you could be experiencing pangs of regret.
Be especially careful over the weekend of December 19 and 20. Venus, your money ruler, makes a stressful, 90-degree aspect to Uranus. A moment of madness could torpedo your bank balance.
Taurus
Taureans have a reputation for being sensible and down to earth, and in December you’ll have a good understanding of your finances. You’ll be well aware that it’s not a time for extravagant behaviour, and I think it unlikely that you’ll be blowing the budget over the Christmas period.
In fact you’ll probably have an unsentimental approach to Christmas. You’ll see through the commercial tinsel, and you’ll see it as a short holiday rather than a drawn-out shopping trip. The festivities might cost you time, but they’re not going to cost you money.
Having said all this, you’re going to be quite imaginative with your money. You’ll realise that money can be managed in many different ways, and if you have investments you might want to move them around – perhaps giving yourself exposure to the economies of other countries.
Your approach may be wrong, it may be right, and you probably shouldn’t make a decision until you’ve consulted a qualified and registered (and suable!) financial advisor.
Gemini
Your first inclination is to trust other people, at least when it comes to money. And at the beginning of December you might feel that you should do what you’re told.
It makes sense, it certainly makes things easier, but is it really sensible? Just because someone claims that they know all the answers doesn’t mean that they can be trusted.
As December progresses you’ll become increasingly wise. You won’t take things at face value and when money matters are discussed you’ll want to look under the surface. And with the help of your powerful Gemini brain you can start uncovering the truth.
You’re helped by the fact that Mercury, your ruler, is moving into Capricorn. You’ll have a good understanding of material details, and you mustn’t doubt your knowledge and experience.
If you’re involved in business discussions, then the best strategy is to let the other person talk, without saying a word. You’ll slowly develop an understanding of what’s going on, and you’ll be in a position to argue your case, confident that you’ve got a handle on the facts.
Cancer
At the moment a lot of your energy is going into your finances. However you have to be careful. It’s possible to focus on the wrong areas, thinking they’re going to be profitable, when in actual fact they’re a dead-end.
So, is there some financial project you’re excited about, that’s consuming a lot of your time? At least a lot of your dreams? Do you really know what you’re doing? By late December the penny might drop, as you realise that you’ve made a big mistake.
However I’m not saying that you’re actually going to lose money. If you call a halt at the first opportunity, then I don’t think any lasting damage will be done. And it’s possible that in a few months time you can review the situation. Things might have changed, very much for the better.
If you’re celebrating Christmas, then try not to do your Christmas shopping too early. During the first half of December it’s easy to spend without thinking and your misplaced generosity could be more trouble than it’s worth.
So every time you buy a non-essential item, ask yourself whether your purchase is really worth it. And consider the possibility that you can get it cheaper, somewhere else.
Leo
At the beginning of the month, until December 5, your approach to money may not be very sensible. There’s a danger that you spend without thinking, and leisure and pleasure could cost you a fortune.
However as the month progresses you become more sensible. You realise that everything has to be accounted for and some Leos might want to take detailed records of what they’re spending. Such an approach might sound excessive, but in the current climate it makes sense.
It’s also possible that on dates around December 7 and 8 you have a small shock. Perhaps you’d made some assumptions about your financial situation that aren’t actually true, and it might be necessary to do some recalculations.
Although there might be moments of panic, I don’t think we’re talking about anything serious. You just have to take on board some basic realities.
Virgo
At the beginning of December there’s a favourable aspect between Venus and Saturn, that could have a beneficial impact on your finances. You’ll understand your limits, and you’ll discover new ways of making money.
It’s the kind of money that requires hard work, that certainly doesn’t grow on trees! But you’re a Virgo, and you realise that you don’t get something for nothing.

Libra
In December your attitude to money might be rather careless. You perhaps won’t think about the money itself, instead you’ll be focusing on the items and experiences it can buy. As a result you could spend without thinking and by the New Year there could be cause for regret.
Under these circumstances you need to think about what you’re spending and why. Sometimes buying is the easy option, and if one can be bothered to exercise one’s intelligence one can save oneself a packet.
I suspect that many of the things you want to buy you already own. Maybe they’re not brand new, but in most cases they’re good enough for your purposes.
As you move into the last half of the month your attitude to money starts to change. You become more sensible, and you’ll think again about some of your financial plans.
Scorpio
The financial angle can’t be ignored. On December 2 there’s a Full Moon, which falls across the money axis of your solar chart. You understand your financial situation, and if there are shortcomings you’ll be ready to take action.
Though it’s important that you don’t take things too far. Money’s money, and it shouldn’t be taken personally. You can make big changes to your spending patterns without disrupting your various relationships.
On December 16 there’s a New Moon, and it’s at this stage that you can start work on a brand new plan. It might be ambitious, but if you stick with it there could be some very real financial gains.
Sagittarius
At the beginning of the month there’s a favourable aspect between Venus and Saturn. This is good news for your finances. You’ll be encouraged to be sensible, especially if you’re buying clothes and beauty products. You’ll know that looking good doesn’t require massive expenditure, and if you’re out shopping you’ll be able to hunt down the right products.
This might also have relevance if you’re buying Christmas presents. For you, the first week of December is the time to do your Christmas shopping. You won’t feel rushed, and because you have more time to make your choices your purchases will not only be of good value, but they’ll also be appropriate.
On December 21, the same day as the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, it’s the Winter Solstice, when the Sun moves into Capricorn. Although this event happens every year, at pretty much the same time, it could have an impact on your finances, because at the moment the Solstice is falling very close to Pluto.
You’ll become focused on what you have and what you don’t have. Some Sagittarians might feel jealous of people who have more than them, but others might be spurred to take active steps to boost their income. It might be a slow process, but by the Spring Equinox, in late March of next year, you could see some very real results.
Capricorn

While I understand that many Aquarians don’t like to be bogged down in financial detail, it’s important that you have a responsible approach, that you give consideration to every penny you spend.
And it’s your social activities that could be most costly. Visits to restaurants and other nightspots could sound like fun, but the bottom line could be very expensive.
I would therefore suggest that you keep a tight rein over your social life, and if you’re going out make sure that someone else is paying.
As the month progresses, a speculative streak might reveal itself. Perhaps you’ll see a new way of making money, that sounds very easy. However there’s almost certainly a catch, and you must make sure that you read the small print.
Pisces
At the beginning of December there are minor problems, that you might want to throw money at. Spending money seems the easiest option, better than using ingenuity and hard work.
However if you’re lazy, and you pay someone else to do something – rather than do it yourself – there might be cause for regret. Perhaps you’ll be let down? Or the other person won’t be sufficiently skilled?
On the other hand, the right person can be very luck for you. A person with the magic touch, who knows how to make things happen. They’ve got good ideas, and if you follow their advise you could boost your income.
