The Karma of Bishop Richard Williamson

by Archie Dunlop on March 6, 2009

Richard Williamson is a Pisces. He is also a bishop from the Society of St. Pius X – a traditionalist organisation, that regards the mainstream Roman Catholic as too modern. He has gained notoriety for his claim that the Holocaust, as commonly understood, never happened.

Aside from his views on the holocaust, he has expressed the opinion that women shouldn’t go to university, and he has been quoted by the BBC as follows:

A woman can do a good imitation of handling ideas, but then she will not be thinking properly as a woman. Did this lawyeress check her hairdo before coming into court? If she did, she is a distracted lawyer. If she did not, she is one distorted woman.

Is this man really a typical Pisces? Pisces is not a sign that’s known for being dogmatic, though every Piscean is different, and they’ll respond uniquely to the energy of their star sign.

Yet one has to understand that Pisces can be sensitive to chaos. It looks at the world around it, and sometimes sees serious disorder. Few rules and few guidelines, the ground under its feet seeming to be very shaky. As as result a Pisces might regard religion as being a secure rock amongst stormy seas. The Pisces could hold on to that rock, and possibly refuse to countenance change.

Interestingly, Richard Williamson has no planets in Air signs (ie Gemini, Libra and Aquarius). The Air signs are associated with intellectual flexibility, and while Williamson is obviously very intelligent, he perhaps finds it difficult to look at the world from alternative points of view.

With regard to his views on women, the signature in his horoscope is clear. Venus, the planet that rules women, is exactly conjunct Saturn, in the sign Aries. Neither Venus nor Saturn are happy in this sign, and the conjunction suggests that Williamson wants women kept in their place – after all, Saturn is the planet of restriction.

It should also be remembered that the sign Pisces is rules by Jupiter, and Jupiter has a special connection with religion. Jupiter represents a guiding philosophy, and it can be very doctrinaire.

Being a good Catholic, Richard Williamson won’t believe in reincarnation. But we can still have a look at his Karma.

He has the South Node of the Moon in Aries, along with Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. The South Node of the Moon represents the past, the things that we should be moving away from, and it’s perhaps all too easy for him to be an individual, to set himself apart from the mainstream.

He broke from an Anglican upbringing and became a Roman Catholic, then he became involved with an organisation that itself broke away from the mainstream Catholic Church. And then, just as the break seemed to be healing, his denial of the holocaust becomes world news.

Richard Williamson’s North Node is in Libra. The North Node is the future, and it represents the values that we should be moving towards – in this life and beyond.

Libra is a sign of reconciliation, of working in a team, of being part of something rather than separate from it. I believe that this symbolises a Karmic challenge for Richard Williamson, which he might have to deal with in his next incarnation. If he doesn’t, he could end up going round and round in Karmic circles.
