Paul, thanks for your question. It’s difficult for me to give clear answers to your questions. You gave me a date of birth, and you said you were born in the early morning, but I am unable to pin down either the sign of your Ascendant or even the sign of your Moon – if you were born before 5.41 am your Moon would be in Aquarius, after 5.41 am it would be in Pisces. Though in Hindu astrology your Moon is definitely in Aquarius.
Nonetheless, I do believe that your job in hospitality is drawing to a close – though I’m not suggesting that you leave it without good reason. It doesn’t seem to be answering your needs, and it’s possible that you’re having differences of opinion with the people you’re working with. And if these differences of opinion do indeed exist, they could be impossible to resolve.
However your hospitality career isn’t far from the mark. Although I don’t have your exact time of birth, it seems pretty clear from your horoscope that you’ve got very definite social skills. You’ve got both the Sun and Mercury in Libra, and I’m sure that you have a good understanding of social dynamics, and when you’re bringing people together you know how to create the right atmosphere. And being born on October 17 you have the same birthday as club owner Peter Stringfellow – I hope you regard that as a complement!
Furthermore you’ve got Jupiter aspecting your Venus-Mars midpoint. This makes you charismatic and attractive, and when you’re interacting with other people you know how to make them feel special.
Yet it seems that since late 2007 you’ve found it increasingly difficult to get what you want, and expressing your natural charm might have been hard work. You just weren’t in your element, and this was perhaps reflected in your attitude to your work.
Fortunately everything comes to an end, and by September of 2009 the situation should be easing, and you’ll be back to your normal self. You’ll also find that relationships are more straightforward, and you’re not burdened by feelings of excessive responsibility. Most importantly, you’ll be in a better position to take clear initiatives.
As far as the relationship between you and your Taurean partner is concerned, I would suggest that between now and September 2009 you tread carefully, and that you make a special effort to understand her concerns. The average Taurean puts a high premium on sincerity and reliability, while the average Libran can sometimes be too flippant and too logical. Give your partner plenty of time, listen to her concerns, and honour your promises.
Which brings me back to your career. I don’t think that now is the right time to burn your bridges. Your particular career might not be going anywhere, but you can’t bring it to an abrupt halt. Instead you should be thinking about your next move, and you should have a mid-term perspective – perhaps thinking ahead to the autumn. Of course if something comes up in the meantime, that you’re happy about, then you should give it serious consideration.
As for new careers, we’re not talking about a dramatic change from what you’re already doing. Interacting with other people and using your social skills is the way forward. And don’t underestimate yourself in terms of marketing, selling and advertising – whatever the product, you know how to package it.
However it’s possible that a key component of your success will be the characteristics of the people you’re working with. You have a conjunction between Venus and Mars, in the sign Virgo, and Virgo can be quiet choosy – you notice your work-mates’ flaws and imperfections, and if you regard someone as being below standard it might be difficult for you to work with them. I would therefore suggest that in your next job you pay careful attention to the social make-up.
Finally, in Hindu astrology you’re going through a period of life ruled by Jupiter, and in your Hindu horoscope Jupiter is in the Tenth House (of career) from the Moon. So looking beyond the short-term turbulence, it’s a time of your life when you can be very successful in your career – and you can also have more than your fair share of good luck.
I can’t be sure how long this Jupiter period will last for – if you were born at 3 am it would go on until August 2018, if you were born at 9 am it would be until December 2015. And when the Jupiter period ends, you move into your Saturn period, and this should also be fortunate, because in Hindu astrology you’ve got Saturn in Libra, the sign of its exaltation.
I’m therefore very optimistic about your future. You’re ambitious, and I’m confident that by the end of the year you’ll have found your niche.
