I am a Libra. My question is whether I should sell my apartment. Also, should I buy a second home? There is one that I am considering buying in the country – it’s very beautiful – and cheap – but I am not sure I can afford it. – Chloeafter, New York

Chloeafter, you’ve asked a question that potentially has financial consequences.  So I should start off by saying that astrology is for entertainment purposes only, and it should not be used when making decisions.  But for fun, I set up a horoscope for the time I received your email, and for you entertainment I’ll give you an answer – that you mustn’t take seriously.

At the moment, I think you’re surprisingly indecisive.  Because usually, you’re someone who knows what they want.  After all, you’re a triple Libra – that means you’ve got the Sun, the Moon and the Ascendant in this sign.  You are what you are are, you’re not someone to be racked with doubt.

However for the last few months the planet Jupiter has been going retrograde, and it’s not until September 8 that Jupiter starts going forward.  So perhaps in a week or two’s time you’ll have a clearer idea about what you want.

As far your question is concerned, I get the impression that your overall financial situation is OK, but it’s not bulletproof.  One bad mistake could really sink you, and I think in the short-term your financial judgement could be less than perfect.  And while you could buy this house in the country, I think it’s cheap for a reason.  Furthermore, if you’re involved in negotiations about this purchase, your position vis-a-vis the seller may not be very strong, and you might give away more than you expect.  I would therefore advise you NOT to buy this house.

Looking at your existing apartment, it might soon be time to sell, but I don’t think the time is quite right. If you rushed to sell it, there might be cause for regret.  So you should take your time, and decide what you really want.

From the end of November onwards property and investment issues could become very important, and it’s at this stage that you have to be really careful – the emphasis, I think, should be on consolidation and capital safety rather than expansion.  This period of caution will go on for some time, until 2011.  However from the summer of 2011 onwards you start to enter an extremely good period of your life, lasting for seventeen years.  I hope you’ve got no plans for slacking off!
