Pisces of the week: Christian Gerhartsreiter aka Clark Rockefeller

by Archie Dunlop on August 14, 2008

Clark Rockefeller hit the news a few weeks ago, when he kidnapped his seven-year old daughter. Fortunately the girl is now safe with her mother, and Clark Rockefeller is in prison. However his past is rapidly unravelling, and it turns out that he was a German exchange student, who visited American in 1977. And somehow for the last thirty years he’s managed to merge into the vastness of the United States, living under various assumed names.

Originally from Bavaria, his real name is Christian Gerhartsreiter. And it would appear that he was born on February 21 1961. In fact, according to the Boston Herald, he was born at 11.10 am, in the town of Siegsdorf.

So he’s a Pisces, which makes sense. Pisceans can be very adaptable, and they can change their image to fit the environment. One perhaps thinks of a fish, going with the flow, being able to disappear into the depths when necessary.

As Clark Rockefeller he claimed to be part of the famous Rockefeller family, and he had also claimed a connection with the Battenburgs. His stories about himself were often far-fetched, and not surprisingly this damaged his credibility.

Clearly Christian Gerhartsreiter is not a good role model for Pisceans, and if one’s trying to fool people it’s a bad idea to make outrageous claims. But aside from his star sign, there are other factors to consider.

Gerhartsreiter has a Gemini ascendant. People with Gemini rising tend to have lots of things to say. Indeed very often their way of dealing with the world is to talk, talk, talk – when they surround themselves with a wall of words they feel safe. The words come thick and fast, and telling lies can be very easy.

The planet ruling Gemini is Mercury. It’s the planet of the intellect, and in Gerhartsreiter’s horoscope it’s poorly placed. It’s in Pisces, a sign that it’s very weak in, and it’s also going backwards and is conjunct the Sun. Although Gerhartsreiter probably has a high IQ, Mercury’s position would have a negative impact on his judgement. He would find it difficult to logically evaluate his situation, and perhaps his ego gets in the way of clear thinking.

Gerhartsreiter’s final mistake was kidnapping his daughter. When you kidnap a seven year old child the authorities are going to come looking for you, and even before his capture the kidnapping was world news. And his actions remind us that Pisces is the most emotional sign of the Zodiac. Whatever one thinks of Gerhartsreiter, his daughter seems to be very precious to him, and it was his emotional bond with her that motivated his action, that short-circuited common sense and decency. Yet his Pisces Sun finally revealed itself, and with his capture the mask was ripped asunder.
